*Worked with product design engineers to clarify and resolve problems and develop alternative designs.

Senior Project Engineer, Engineering Technology Associates (May 2007 - July 2011)

With Navistar Inc.: (Aug. 2010 – May 2011) * Coordinated with Product engineering group to develop and optimize design concerning strength and performance considerations.

* Responsible for the finite element modeling and analysis (linear and non-linear) of various Truck components/ structures using Nastran, Dyna3D and Abaqus.

With PACCAR -Peterbilt and Kenworth Trucks (Nov. 2008 – May 2009)

Involved in the Design and Evaluation of NGP structures for six variants for the maximum stresses due to measured loads and help the design to modify the structure, so the maximum stress stays below the target value. Also to perform fatigue analysis to ensure that the structure maintains a long life according to the desired structural life target, given by PACCAR.

With Ford Motor Company (May 2007 – Nov 2008)

Commercial Trucks (F650, F750): Involved in the design, testing/ correlation with CAE results and prototype building of Ford Commercial Trucks F650 and F750 series.

F150 Light weight Truck Project : Worked on Frame and body to meet reduced weight target by utilizing new materials and technologies while improving Durability and NVH.

Project Engineer, Belcan Tech. Services (with Daimler Chrysler Corporation) (Nov. 2001 - May 2007)

* Build, Modify and Updated Full Vehicle models of LX Dodge Magnum, MK74, MK49, PM49, JK07 including subsystems Power Train, Suspension, Steering system etc to perform NVH full Vehicle analyses for Power Train Noise, Road Noise, Road Shake, Idle Shake etc.

* Multi-disciplinary optimization (MDO) for MK74 to reduce weight by considering the performance of different attributes like NVH, Impact, and Durability.

* Worked with MCM group, BIW, Structures, Vehicle Development to provide support for achieving a robust and cost effective design for PM49, JR27 Rear Suspension system, LH98 Engine Cradle.

* Durability Fatigue life analysis by performing Hood Slam analysis and Fatigue analysis.

* Gauge Optimization of BIW and components.

* Seat Riser design, Engine Excursions, Suspension components, Noise path analysis, exhuast hanger locations etc.

* BIW: PM49, MK49, MK74, LX, JS, JR, JK07, LH

Project Engineer, Engineering Tech. Associates, (with Ford Motor Company) (March1995 - July 2001)

Full Vehicle NVH System Analysis: Responsible for Building Full Vehicle model and updating it according to Power Train, Suspension, Steering, Body, Frame Subsystem design change. Provide Full Vehicle level assessments and design direction for different load cases like Driveline imbalance, Engine Idle, Power train Noise, Road Shake, Brake roughness etc.

*Body /Chassis Analysis: Tactile and acoustic Transfer function (FRF), Point Mobility analyses.

*Body/ Chassis Modeling: Modify according to design intent directions.

* D platform capabilities study: Full Vehicle NVH System Analysis to demonstrate D platform capability to meet targets of future D/E/F vehicles. Motivation was investment/performance issues with D219 program. Primary issues to resolve were Brake Roughness, Impact Harshness, Road noise, Steering, Suspension.

* MC4 advanced vehicle with forward opening door design: To support the development of forward opening door (FOD) design in a Cougar (SW164) based coupe vehicle for improving ingress/egress to rear seats, assessed NVH performance by performing Transfer function and point mobility analyses.

* GAP (Generic Architecture Process): PN96/P221 Magnesium Radiator Support: PN96 Steel radiator support is replaced by Magnesium radiator support. Use of new material and new design provide 7 kg of weight saving.

Smart cross car beam: To provide better attachment for improving Steering Column modes.

Front end cockpit module, Spare tire well module, Sections study.

* GBA (Generic Body Architecture Design): Updated Full Vehicle model with Generic body architectural design changes, analyzed

the current and GBA design and compare NVH responses, optimized gages of body structure and reduce the weight by meeting NVH, Durability and Safety constraints.

* Structural Foam study: The purpose of this study is to see the effect of high density reinforcing structural foam on Vehicle NVH performance (strength, stiffness and energy absorption of Foam filled structural components or to increase the rigidity of structure with out adding significant weight).

* Glass bound shear modulus effect study: To study the effect of change in the Modulus of Glass bond material on the BIP and Full vehicle responses.

* DN101 BIW Multi- Discipline Weld Optimization:

Weld Optimization study was performed for DN101 BIW using advanced optimization tools, to find the optimum locations and spacing (pitch) for spot welds to come up with a improved, robust and cheaper product NVH and durability attributes were simultaneously optimized while Safety and Manufacturing attributes were included as side design constraints to avoid trade off between different attributes.

* Acoustic Cavity Analysis to obtain the frequencies, mode shapes and interior sound pressure of interior cavity of a vehicle.
