Business Experience:

Founder, with Molly E. Cirksena and Jeffrey L. Tredwell, DPM, of Diabetic Foot Centers of America. The DFC proprietary technology was subsequently incorporated into Diabetex, Inc., a company dedicated to the general and foot health of patients with diabetes. Diabetex subsequently evolved into XLHealth Corporation, which provided disease management of diabetes and other chronic medical conditions, and medical insurance to Medicare recipients. As a founder and member of the Board of Directors from inception through 2008, was instrumental in the evolution of an initial local enterprise into a multi-state disease management and medical insurance company which was aquired by United Healthcare February 2012.

Founder, with Molly E. Cirksena and William F. Niland, of Vapotherm Inc., the developer and innovator in the provision of high-flow respiratory therapy devices for in-hospital patients, infants in the neo-natal intensive care unit, and outpatients with chronic respiratory illnesses and sleep apnea. As a founder and member of the Board of Directors through 2008, was instrumental in the translation of a patented high-flow theory into a marketable device which is now sold and provides state-of-the-art respiratory care in hospitals throught the United States, Europe, and elsewhere.
