Paralegal II, Anti-Gun Violence Unit:

Gather information from potential clients for attorneys within the department. Attend outreach events to promote the consequences of the use of violence upon others. Inform the public of both government and private organizations that would be of use for resources and a great benefit for themselves. Work in groups with fellow paralegals within the department to assemble brochures and other similar documents for outreach events. On a regular basis I would arrive at partner sites involved with our organization and speak with potential clients. These training classes would benefit me because it would provide with me with a more educated response on answering a potential client’s question. Contact clients, speaking both English and Spanish language, insurance adjusters from several insurance companies such as Allstate Insurance Company and entities including the New York City Housing Authority and Corp. Counsel. I request several different kinds of documents from the adjuster, experts of a variety of specialties and the provider/carriers to include in an invoice.
