WORK EXPERIENCE

Electronics Support Manager

November 1999 - November 2013

Peoria Civic Center - SMG Peoria, Illinois 61602

. Support of LAN, Assist with purchasing, billing and administration of

all electronic systems.

. Support of phone system, cabling, telecommunications, Internet, and

other electronic services for internal and external clients

. Interaction with and function as technical support to provide client

services for all events. Meet with staff and clients to participate in

advance planning

. Inventory and administration of maintenance, service agreements, and

warranties on Computer/LAN/Internet/Phone systems. Support of other

building services such as 911, scoreboards, marquis, POS system.

. Supervise and train various staff on use of various electronic and

computer systems and software.

Project Experience.

. High Speed Internet system. Designed a high speed internet network for

the entire complex which includes a 100MB Ethernet network utilizing

an infrared feed with a bandwidth of 100MB/sec.. The complex is

comprised of a 14,500-seat Arena, a 3000 Seat Theater and a

64,000sq.ft. Convention center with a business center as well as 40

private rooms for client needs. The project cost $14,000 and was

completed in December of 2001 and the return of this investment

currently stands at 70% payback on investment as of October 1st 2002.

. New Telecommunications Backbone. Redesign of the telecommunications

backbone within the Civic Center Complex to include telecommunications

to all areas of the complex as well as Internet services. Additional

backbone was also designed into the project to include future

expansion plans for the facility. This includes layouts of wiring

within the complex, coordination with contracted vendors to ensure

compliance with the specifications for the project. Naming conventions

as well as color coding for the various sections of the complex. This

project in general centralizes the telecommunication services within

the civic center to one location allowing any phone in the complex to

be patched to any location within the structure.

. Event Management Database. Designed and built an Event driven

database to track events within the civic enter complex. The database

tracks all events, over 500 a year, related data from the labor to the

rental of equipment and services including concession stand

information as well as front and back of house information.

. Redesign Floor Pockets for the Convention Hall. Worked with

engineering firm to redesign what was 4 separate "pockets" used to

deliver services to clients in the convention center floor, there are

79 stations with 4 separate pockets within the convention center. The

project was to design and implement a new floor pocket that would

accommodate all the services into one pocket.

. Install POS system - Design layout and install a 70 station POS system

within the complex covering the Theater, Arena and Event halls. Worked

with the manufacturer to install and configure POS stations within the

facility, the project completed successfully and to date has had no

significant issues.

. Add Network Closets - Added six network closets to the complex all

connected with fiber to facilitate faster services within the complex.

. Install digital signage system - researched and installed a digital

advertizing system within the complex offering advertizing to the

building and clients 24/7 to be displayed on 50" LG monitors/TV sets.

. Upgraded all the infrastructure equipment from 100MB network to a

Gigabit network infrastructure;. Worked with vendors to obtain

equipment and configuration to meet needs of the complex.

. Assisted the Rivermen and Centerplate with installing their stand

alone networks within the complex.

. Hired and trained employees to assist in support of the IT network and

events.

. Purchased all IT equipment and managed all vendors related to IT

infrastructure (switches/routers/firewalls desktops and related

software and hardware for the complex)

. Familiar with Ethernet/TCPIP protocols as well as VPN networking and

VLAN configuration and use. Designed and implemented a backup solution

for onsite and offsite backup of the systems. Familiar with exchange

clients and creation of user accounts. Setup users within the active

directory for new users and clean up of users that are terminated from

the directory.

. Upgraded Phone Switch from the Mitel sx 2000 to the Mitel 3300 IP PBX

and added 25 or so IP phones to the system. complete

adds/moves/changes to the system as needed for the civic Center as

well as the Rivermen and Centerplate. troubleshoot phone issues from

system to punch downs to user for connectivity issues. Worked with

telecom providers for PRI use and needs as well as QOS of system and

calls. Worked with digital/analogue and IP phones.

. Installed Credit Card system for outside use at th complex parking

lots. This was a wireless system, that centered on credit card use at

the parking lot entrances and connected to the internal systems.
