Professional Projects

3rd Party Integration: Created a two way interface with a 3rd party cloud vendor. Business users go to the 3rd party website to quote, issue, endorse, and cancel insurance policies. Project has included several reports, XML integration, bulk uploads, analytics, and BI. Responsibilities included: gathering requirements for 9 contracts across 50 states for 30+ branch offices, creating user stories, creating workflow designs, writing test cases, regression testing, requesting new system enhancements, QA testing, training users, system setup and maintenance, help desk support, documenting defects, setting priorities for states and contracts among others. Responsibilities also included the coordination of UAT, platform upgrades, go lives, change management, system refreshes, production code/configuration updates, system and data separations, creation of a data mart, a condo manager and a contract aggregate drill down list. Project included: 2 developers, 3rd party vendor, and system of record vendor along with 100+ end users.

Company Acquisition: Coordinated all efforts with internal IT, accounting, and business stakeholders, legal team, and 3rd party that was being acquired. It is also the first time credit cards are being used by the company. Responsibilities included: creating project plan, updating and maintaining project timeline, brainstorming all items that would be needed to acquire the company within a month, obtaining and documenting all processes within the acquired company, obtaining lists and information of all systems used, contracts, login information, code documentation, actual code, and other assets. Project included: legal team, 1 developer, 2 business stakeholders, and 3rd party company.

Surplus Lines Tax Reports: Updated 10 surplus lines tax reports to adhere to new state regulations. Moved the reports from the transactional system to the data warehouse utilizing SSIS and SAP Web Intelligence. A front end user interface was created in .Net to allow accessibility my the accounting department. Responsibilities included: collecting requirements, conducting first round regression testing, holding status meetings, prioritizing states, obtaining project sign off, and general project management. Project included 4 internal developers, accounting department and several state surplus lines tax offices.

Microsoft Dynamics Implementation: Currently doing R&D and prototyping of a solution to be rolled out to the whole company. The goal is to integrate system of record, email, leads, and marketing department to better track sales leads, improve customer relationships, and obtain new business seamlessly and easily as possible.

Marketing Report: Created a self-service BI solution that allowed the marketing department to create marketing campaigns, assign different pieces of advertisement to different groups, and track differences over time to see effectiveness. Solution integrated several databases, an online zip code subscription, and was built to connect to Microsoft Dynamics once it is rolled out. Responsibilities included: reaching out to vendors to obtain their services, define how to merge and connect systems, creation of a database, and data cleansing. Project included: 2 developers, 2 3rd party companies and 3 marketing team individuals.

IT Dashboard: Created a database, prototyped a mobile and desktop version of a dashboard that gave a status on all daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly automated processes. Dashboard was created in the form of a website. The website consisted of both a desktop and mobile version that was created in .Net framework. Responsibilities included: creating project plan, gathering requirements, creating database definitions and data dictionary, coordinating with all developers who were responsible for processes to define what they considered a success and data needed to monitor along with coordinating their code changes to write to new database. Project included 5 internal developers.

Daily, Weekly, Monthly Processes: Worked with development team to move all processes off an old reporting sever to the data warehouse. This included reaching out to different vendors and getting reports delivered via XML. It also included the creation of a SFTP site. Responsibilities included: Working with 3rd party vendors to obtain report formats, ensuring all processes were moved, and the old server was decommissioned. Project included 4 IT team members, and 2 3rd party companies.

Broker Statement: Created a new layout of the monthly broker statement with the accounting department that goes out to thousands of agencies each month and outlines all business done and any monies still outstanding. The statement is printed by a 3rd party company. Responsibilities included: working with printing company for tests, gathering requirements, obtaining project sign off, creating layout, formatting final template to be used. Project included: 1 developer, 2 accounting individuals, and 3rd party printing company.

Supplier Company and Solutions Research: Talked with suppliers to gather data about various solutions and did a cross comparison of possible solutions for upper management to make final decisions on.

Data Warehouse Creation: Project managed all efforts of the creation of the data warehouse. Worked with operations team to get servers, storage and applications installed. Worked with development team on setup, user creation and security groups, disaster recovery, backups, backup validation, creation of tables and population of data.
