Serve as the Combined Arms Training Team senior linguist and cultural advisor to CATT Chief
and U.S. Officers.
Duties:
- Provide accurate interpretation / translation of official documents and training materials,
seminars, assessments and classes for U.S. Army Officers and senior Saudi officers.
- Provide accurate interpretation during conferences, meetings, seminars, classes, briefings.
- Provide U.S. Officers and NCOs with proper cultural advice to assist them understand Saudi
and Middle Eastern culture.
- Serve as primary Arabic instructor for the CATT helping Officers to develop their Arabic
language skills.
- Provide training, orientation, guidance, and supervision for 4 other linguists working for the
CATT.
- Revise, refine, and localize translation work.
Accomplishments
- The proper cultural advice that I provided have helped U.S. Officers to adapt and gain
understanding of the Saudi culture. Consequently, facilitated achievement of their
objectives and tasks.
- The orientation, training and supervision that I provide to the linguists help them to
perform their duties/tasks perfectly. In turn, this helps the CATT members to be productive
and able to use any of the linguists.
- Provided key assistance that helped U. S. Officers to develop their Arabic language
skills to promote and sustain their relations with their Saudi counterparts as it bridges the
gap and builds stronger relations.
Significant Contributions
- Supported the U.S. Army/ Royal Saudi Land Forces Friendship III/ Iron Hawak III joint
exercises in April 2014.
- Supported the U.S. Army/ Royal Saudi Land Forces Friendship II joint exercise in April
2011.
- Supported the U.S. Army/ Royal Saudi Land Forces Earnest Land in April 2010.
- Supported and executed several classes and seminars provided by U.S. officers to Saudi
leaders.
