Viacom.com is the corporate extranet site of Viacom Inc. The site

serves stock indexes of Viacom as well as their earnings reports. It also provides

glimpse of all the brands owned by Viacom. The site required an authenticated

environment where the content owners of different brands will maintain the

contents related to their brand and also all the changes will go through an

approval mechanism. The legal team should be notified for each and every

change on the site.

In order to achieve the requirements we had implemented the CMS

mechanism that contained an authenticated internal site with different groups

and permission setup along with OOB approval workflows. The content was

pushed to the external site using Jobs and Paths.

Nick Press (www.nickpress.com)

Nickpress.com is specifically designed to meet the press needs of channels

like Nickelodeon, Nick@Nite, Nick Jr., Teen Nick and NickToons. The site

contains show artwork, synopsis and bios which can be viewed online or can be

downloaded by registered press members. The site implements its own

registration and authorization module in order to authorize and track downloads

of artifacts from the site.

The site is implemented on publishing model, there is an authenticated

internal site where the modifications are done on regular basis and there is an

internet site with anonymous authentication where all the changes are pushed

using Job and Paths, the CMS provided by MOSS.

TV land Press (www.tvlandpress.com)

Similar to Nickpress.com, TV Land press is designed to serve the press

needs for the TV Land Channel, it implements its own authorization and

registration module in order to authorize and track the downloads. The content is

pushed to the site using Jobs and Paths from an internally authenticated site.

Intranet portal for Viacom Employees. Used for online registration of

various events in Viacom and MTVN networks. It host InfoPath form for the

Viacom users to update their profile data in SharePoint as well as AD. The form

uses web service to interact with various Databases. A custom workflow is

applied to route the form through various levels of approvals.

Developed Following Web Part:

People Search Web Part: AJAX enabled web part to search users of portal.

Organization Chart Web Part: Retrieves Hierarchy of Employees from Active

Directory/User Profiles and show it in Pictorial Chart.

Team Member Web Part: Displays members of team in different layouts,

members are fetched from SharePoint User Group or List.

Site Usage Report Viewer Web Part: Web Analytic tool for SharePoint site

.Single point report viewer generates report for selected sites at one place. Kind

of Administrative tool.

Video Audit Web Part: Gives file size and type audit details, plays video using

VLC plug in .Users can push videos to external storage i.e. Network shares.
