Currently leading small teams (20 employees) to redesign and develop the member and provider portals for United

Concordia, modernizing and adapting the applications for responsive design, reduced customer service expense and

enhanced customer experiences. Drove teams through the company's version of the rational unified process, and adapted

and converted new teams to use agile (scrum) process for improved responsiveness to business changes.

Director, GSI Commerce, an eBay Company, 2010-2013

Led the software development organization for core platform features on eBay Enterprise’s largest ecommerce platform.

The platform produces revenues in excess of $1 billion annually and hosts over 80 clients including Toys R’ Us, Calvin

Klein, Ralph Lauren, ACE Hardware, NFLShop.com, RadioShack and Aeropostale. Responsibilities and highlights

included:

• Roadmap creation, product and process innovation and third party integrations.

• Software planning, architecture, design and implementation for new features and products.

• Promoted from Sr. Manager to Director for outstanding performance in 2011.

• Led teams which received Excellence Delivered Awards for outstanding contributions to the company in 2012,

2013.

• Customer and client pre-sales support, third party and contractor negotiations.

• Led globally disperse development teams consisting of technical managers, project managers, QA, web

developers, back end developers and architects.

• Functional (Hiring, Salary, Compliance, Performance Reviews) management for over 20 employees.

• Cost, schedule and subcontract management for approximately $10 million of software development, with

Led various software development teams ranging in size from 4 to 65 employees in roles such as head of software

development for an international satellite cell phone project, manager for a large data warehousing and transformation

initiative and software head for small fast paced agile project. Other roles included: software developer, test director,

process consultant, architect and associate chief engineer. My responsibilities included:

• Functional (Hiring, Salary, Compliance, Performance Reviews) management for over 20 employees with project

related oversight of 60 employees.

• Cost, schedule and subcontract management for approximately $20+ million of software development, with

advisory guidance on $60 million (hardware, infrastructure, testing).

• Serving as final authority on all software matters and chairing several engineering review boards.

• Provided architecture and implementation guidance on systems written in C/C++, Java, Perl, JavaScript, HTML,

XML, Oracle, Unix, MS SQL Server, C#/.NET and other platforms.

• Adapted new Agile processes to lead an advance technology team which produced software at a rate of over 4

times the company average and finished the overall project 6 months ahead of schedule.

• Provided technical advice and review for a $100 million proposal.

• Tasks included writing variance reports, individual performance rankings, approving time cards and writing award

and promotion write-ups, strategic planning, including budget and staffing plans

HIGHLIGHTS FROM 2000 and PRIOR:

• Developed test software and device drivers for MPEG-2 decompression boards, CineMaster® which won a PC

Magazine Editors’ Choice Award and sold through 9 of the top 10 OEMs.

• Adapted software to handle the NASDAQ’s change from fractions to decimals for a large option trading firm.

• Software engineer developing real-time multi-tasking software controlling rail yards.

• Led a software development team focused on international expansion products (CADDY Compiler®).

• Developed embedded and PC based software to transmit telemetry data from pacemakers.
