As an IT professional spanning 15 years in the industry, I have developed an extensive background working with

computer networks and communications technologies in various sectors. From small to large enterprise environments

as well as healthcare, education, and government, my aim has been focused in the application and server virtualization

space on Windows and Linux-based platforms, with a strong commitment to improving productivity and the user

experience. Prior to a short engagement at ExtraHop, I had spent the last 5 years developing and supporting IT solutions

in Perth, Western Australia. With my skills and experience abroad, I am seeking to re-enter the market in Atlanta and

KINETIC IT, DEPARTMENT FOR CHILD PROTECTION PERTH, WESTERN AUSTRALIA

SYSTEMS ENGINEER 2012–2014

Supported and managed a VMware vSphere 5 datacenter with Operations Management consisting of approximately

500 Windows and Linux virtual machines and appliances.

Provided operational maintenance and Level 3 support for a Citrix XenApp 6.5 farm consisting of over 800 users at

branch offices across the state.

Responsible for managing the entire Active Directory environment consisting of thousands of users and computer

objects, including DNS, DHCP, Exchange, File and Print services, IIS, and Group Policy Management.

Submitted proposals and recommendations for potential infrastructure improvements that would provide additional

Coordinated and implemented technical requirements for a number of ongoing appl ication and infrastructure

Career Highlights:

Designed and implemented the department’s first XenDesktop 7.5 VDI and StoreFront solution for a planned

migration; hosted the infrastructure on Windows Server 2012 machines and deployed a collection of Windows

desktops and servers using a combination of Provisioning Services and Machine Creation Services.

Assigned as Technical Lead to a project for the design and implementation of a remote access solution using

Citrix NetScaler 10.1 for application delivery and VPN services with the use of mobile devices.

Successfully migrated and consolidated the department’s XenApp server farm from standalone hosts on local

storage to a Fiber Channel SAN-connected vSphere cluster. This resulted in increased scalability, significantly

reduced disk latency across the farm, and ultimately provided a better experience for all Citrix users.

Conducted an audit of the server environment and oversaw the decommissioning of over 50 physical and virtual

servers which were either end-of-life or out-of-service.

Contributed my Linux skills to an ongoing and long-term project plan for migrating all core application and

database services hosted on Solaris systems to Red Hat Enterprise Linux.

Developed custom client-server solutions utilizing Citrix XenServer, Windows Server 2008, and Exchange 2007.

Designed and deployed a virtual lab solution for students at public schools utilizing Microsoft Virtual PC to create an

isolated environment for students to complete their IT courses without restrictions.

Improved upon the company’s internal SOE by introducing Windows 7 and new deployment technologies.
