Technician/Operations Geologist. Expertise with oil and gas databases,
mapping software, logging operations, prospect/development drilling
locations, pad designs, well log analysis, seismic data loading and lease
data.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
GASCO ENERGY, Englewood, Colorado
2002-2014
Operations Geologist/Senior Geoscience Technician
o Manage and built all of Gasco's oil and gas projects used for
exploration and production efforts in the Uinta Basin, Green River
Basin, Nevada Antelope Valley and San Joaquin Basin with Geographix's
Discovery suite including GeoAtlas, Xsec, PRIZM, Zone Manager, Query
Builder, LeaseMap, WellBase and Seisvision.
o Create geologic and geophysical displays including structural, gross
pay, net sand, net pay, interval, time structure, depth structure,
digital and raster cross-sections (with Prizm templates) and lease
ownership.
o Import LAS, depth register/non register raster logs, 2D, 3D seismic and
shot point surveys.
o Perform log analysis and build specific log templates used by
Completion Engineers for frac stages and completion design. This
includes Tgas, Rw, Sw, BVW, Neu/Den/Gr cutoffs, play flags and shale
fracture data.
o Manage geologic drilling operations up to four wells at a time from
surface to TD. This included daily drilling reports, mud logs and
communication with Drilling Foreman (company man). Responsible for
logging operations and on call 24/7 while well is being logged and
communicating with Logging Engineers. Download all log data once
logging completed and provide Completion Engineers and Drilling Foreman
petrophysical evaluation for completion and cement design.
o Start the geological permitting process and the Geological Prognosis.
Locate new drilling locations/offsets and make recommendations to
Geological Manager including Pad and BHL's layouts with drainage
ellipse.
o Proficient with IHS, Excel and Access to manage and format well data
(historical and production) including deviated and horizontal surveys
for import into GESX WellBase or ZoneManager. Also use Access and Excel
to prepare land data for import into LeaseMap. Import/Export various
image formats and spatial data into GeoAtlas.
o Create EUR maps based on individual zones or full well bore using
production data and decline curves.
o Create BTU, BHT and Geothermal gradient maps for basin wide regional
analysis.
o Provide backup IT support including new computer setup, software and
hardware installation (workstation and network), software
troubleshooting, and software/hardware purchases.
o Create/update corporate presentations using PowerPoint.
o Use Global Mapper for coordinate conversions and rectifying images.
CMS OIL AND GAS, Denver, Colorado 1999-2002
Senior Geoscience Tech/Database Manager
o Managed all oil and gas data used for exploration and production
efforts in the Powder River, Green River/Sandwash, Piceance/Uinta, and
San Juan basins.
o Created geologic displays using Geographix Explorer, GES97, Map Info
and AutoCad Map. Included structural, isopach, digital, and raster
cross-sections, lease ownership, and thematic mapping.
o Developed import/export routine for leases to load into Geographix's
LeaseMap module and query-specific land entities.
o Worked with Business Development Group to identify new opportunities
throughout the Rocky Mountain Basins.
o Provided all IT support for the Denver office including new computer
setup, software and hardware installation (workstation and network),
software troubleshooting, and software/hardware purchases.

setting.
o Installed hardware and software. Provided technical support for all
users.
o Wrote custom Visual Basic programs as needed by each department.
o Worked closely with geologists in prospect development.
