Data Communications of Iran (DCI) has been awarded a project NeGen (Next Generation

Provisioning) by Telecommunication company of Iran (TCI). TCI is the largest telecom provider

in Iran. TCI has a legacy AutoCAD and DB2/Mainframe based system to document their copper

infrastructure. All the field users checkout a network on AutoCAD and work on the field for

months modifying the copper infrastructure, Once the necessary modifications are done they

handover the details to mainframe users. Data from mainframe systems determine the

availability and the capability to provision the services. With rapid changes to copper

infrastructure and the introduction of fiber optics this working methodology is no longer

accepted. Genesys is a web-based online UI which enables field users to document the changes

online, Genesys interacts with mainframe systems via screen scrapping software to store and

retrieve the data.

Inventory system is also used to track the shipment related information of the imports.
