Professional Experience

Navigation Officer Deck (2010 Present Day) Onboard Bulk Carrier Vessel

• At Sea As an Officer Of Watch – 2nd Officer Responsible for Navigating the vessel using a

range of satellites, radar systems and bridge equipments during my duty.

• Checking weather and navigation reports and taking appropriate actions.

• In Port As a Duty Officer Coordinated the safe loading, stowage, securing and unloading of

cargo.

• As ships Safety Officer monitoring and maintaining safety, fire fighting and life saving

equipments in accordance with International Regulations.

• As Safety Officer managed the care and safety of Ship, Crew, Shore person and

Environment complying with Code Of Safe Working Practice.

• Supervised the operation and maintenance of deck machinery, e.g. winches and cranes.

• Coordinated with Chief Officer in general maintenance of the ship and maintaining the ships

condition in high levels.

• As ships Safety Officer, In charge of Life boats and Life rafts and responsible for conducting

Emergency, Safety drills & trainings onboard frequently.

• Overseeing the ship to ensure that the highest levels of health and safety are maintained at all

time complying with International Regulations & Port Authorities.

• As a Duty Officer was responsible of Ship's Berthing/Unberthing operations under the

supervision of Master and Shore Pilots.

Identification Reports (RIRs), complying with company's policies and International Safety

Able seaman (2005 2007) Onboard Bulk Carrier Vessels

• At sea as an AB watchstander performed duties include standing watch as helmsman and

lookout.

• Responsible for maintaining a steady course, properly execute all rudder orders and

communicate utilizing navigational terms given by multilingual Masters & Pilots relating to heading

and steering.

• Directly responsible for executing Duty Officer's orders during the watch duties at sea and in

ports.

• As an AB day worker performed general maintenance, repair, sanitation and upkeep of

material, equipment, and areas in the deck department. This includes maintenance of the ships

metal structures such as chipping, scraping, cleaning, priming, and painting. Areas frequently in

need of such maintenance include the hull, decks, superstructure, cargo gear, and smoke stack.

• Performed all operations connected with the launching of lifesaving equipment.

• As an AB operated deck machinery, such as the windlass or winches while mooring or

unmooring, and operated cargo gear.

Ordinary seaman OS (2003 2005) Onboard Bulk Carrier Vessels

• As an OS performed a variety of duties concerned with the operation and upkeep of deck

department areas and equipment.

• Assisted Duty Officer and AB's in the cargo loading and Unloading operations in port.

• Assisted AB and other deck staffs in general maintenance of the vessel under the order of

Chief Officers.

• Assisted AB in performing mooring or unmooring, and operated cargo gear.

• Undergone on the job training under the supervision of senior deck department members.

Summary Of Experience

• I have worked in a large team under stressful situations in numerous roles of varying

responsibilities including managing a number of multi national crew at mooring operations to

playing an integral team member keeping the vessel operational. Proven planning and time

management experience of group activities at sea taking control of emergency drills or ashore as

a duty manager planning stock/ordering and task co ordination to see the most efficient running of

an activity. Knowledge of management/learning styles and motivational techniques and a strong

working knowledge of tasks which have set goals and deadlines such as ensuring the vessel

cargo operations to be as timely as possible. Strong awareness of Maritime Business/Economics

and Vessel/Port Operations and the major trading markets/brokering and commodity knowledge

through experience gained at sea and personal studies. Technical use/knowledge of Maritime

Policy/Legislation and documentation governing the shipping and wider economical industries

including a strong working knowledge of SOLAS and MARPOL and other key legislative codes.

Awareness and experience of working in multinational and multi ethnic working environments

through working at sea and liaising with shore side personnel in ports worldwide.
