Worked with the Avnet networking team for the first year after the acquisition to transition the Bell

Microproducts network into the Avnet network and close the Bell data center in Montgomery, Alabama.

• Managed “Avnet Managed Technologies” (AMT) for two years. The service was hosted out of the main data

center in Chandler AZ with both physical and virtual servers running Windows, Linux, Solaris and UNIX.

“Storage Area Network” allocation was also a part of this process.

• Engaged the correct resources to fulfill customer changes to their environments such as adding and removing

servers or “Storage Area Network” allocation.

• Attended weekly meetings to review the network vendor’s performance. Reviewed open and closed requests,

any open problem tickets, and any missed Service Level Agreements.

• Was available 24/7 as the primary point of contact for the NOC should a customer have server or network

issues.

• Provided advanced, detailed information to stake holders when any maintenance that affected “Avnet

Managed Technologies” was being performed.

• Coordinated with the KPMG auditors and the various GIS teams to procure testing results and documentation

for the yearly audit.

For over a decade managed the Local Area Networks the data centers and worked with ATT and Sprint to manage the

Wide Area Networks for a four billion dollar publicly traded company. The environment consisted of approximately

1000+ users and approximately 100 servers located in several data centers and multiple cities around North America.

• Planned and executed the relocation of the company’s primary data center from San Jose California to

Montgomery Alabama with no interruption of service.

• Planned, managed and executed the relocation of network services for three different warehouse/integration

centers that were moved into new facilities.

• Planned and executed the integration of newly acquired company’s networks into the Bell domain.

• Managed several data centers (Microsoft OS based with Linux and AIX operating systems for in-house

applications).

• Incorporated a state-of-the-art “Storage Area Network” and data access/protection system. This included

local mirroring and off site replication processes.

• Managed the conversion of the Bellmicro.com domain to Active Directory in support of Exchange 2000.

• Managed Internal “Domain Name System” records, “Windows Internet Name Service” and “Dynamic Host

Configuration Protocol”.

• Documented the data center processes and disaster recovery and business resumption plans for the data

centers in Montgomery, Alabama and San Jose, California.
