by mitigating the electronics. Subject matter expert in Interior Sensors, Infrastructure, and defeat
methodologies and taught classes in these fields to various government agencies as well as friendly
nations, certified corporate Instructor capable of developing course presentation and materials. Have
worked with several government agencies as well as NATO countries to teach security design and defeat
methodologies. Was member of Advanced Concepts Group at Sandia.
Work History:
Sandia National Labs 5/5/1997-7/1/2013
Electrical Engineering Technician Neutron Generator Production Facility 5/2008-7/2013
Responsibilities included performing electrical repairs, preventive maintenance, equipment
installation and modifications and upgrades to a wide variety of production equipment. Calibration
support of electrical measurements system, mechanical measurements, Ink and laser marking systems,
vapor deposition systems, automated 6-axis metal deposition machine, automated welding system,
building electrical controls systems and programming programmable controllers. Use complex
schematics, drawings and test equipment to troubleshoot equipment problems. Recognize system and
equipment problems before they become major problem and be proactive to solve the problem. Repair
and maintenance of motion control and machine vision systems, electrical repairs, preventive
maintenance, equipment installation and modification to a wide variety of production equipment as
required. Responsible to maintain maintenance logs, purchase requisitions, preventive maintenance
inspections records, drawing revisions, documentation as well as other required engineering
documentation. Reengineered several test systems including a UV ink marking system and an automated
X-ray system for product qualification. Responsibilities also included software support maintenance.
Responsible for implementing software backup systems with several methods to recover production
equipment software, also responsible for migrating control system operating system software from older
operating system software to Windows 7 Pro for the entire production facility.
Electrical Engineering Technician Physical Security Systems Area III 4/2001-5/2008
Assigned to Intrusion Detection Technologies security sensors testing department in Area 3,
responsibilities included maintenance and repair of Intrusion detection sensors infrastructure on a 27 acre
site. Responsible for the mechanical and electrical fabrication of electrical system infrastructure, laying
conduit, pulling wire, and general design and installation of field distribution boxes as well as the data
collection - system on site. Project Liaison on several projects where job was to oversee contractor
installation s and verify that installation met NEC codes as well as any local codes that might apply to
site. Was Subject Matter Expert (SME) on Site Evaluation Assessments (SEA’s) at various sites around
the world. Also SME instructor and provided training to various government agencies like DOE, NRC,
USDA, State Department, and the military. Developed a PIR(Passive Infrared) tester that was part of a
standardization program for SIA (Security Industry Association) The project was to develop a low cost
test system that could be used to standardize for all commercial PIR sensors built worldwide. Design and
implemented the upgrade for the Area 3 test field. The new system included multi tiered networks with
satellite connectivity to facilitate gathering data from sites in extreme climates. Data collection went
from a single collection point server to distributed intelligence system improve alarm capture and
associated video assessment correlation. Was part of the design team that developed ROWS (remotely
Operated Weapons Platform) for use military WSA’s (Weapon Storage Armories).
Electrical Engineering Technician Battery Department 5/5/1997-4/2001
Responsibilities were the same as below but became Tester Team lead where I managed 3
programmers, and 4 technicians. Our job was to support current battery testing for the Battery
department. The team’s duties were to repair and calibrate battery testers that needed repair. As well as
providing scheduled maintenance and Calibration. Another function was modifying operating software
as required to meet testing needs, all while maintaining full engineering controls by updating any
changes made. The team was responsible for operational performance, of the battery test systems at
Sandia’s Battery production facility. Also responsible for three other sites across the country. Another
duty was as lead of the same people to design and develop future battery testers to replace or upgrade
aging testers as they became obsolete.
JTI Systems Inc. 11/1/1980- 5/3/1997
On contract to Sandia National Laboratories in the Battery Development Lab where responsibilities were
general electronic systems maintenance, electronic and mechanical hardware fabrication, and equipment
calibration, and general supporting automated tester development for the department. As level of
expertise grew I started designing systems. This included writing software as well as designing testers.
Designed over thirty automated product acceptance testers for several organizations at Sandia National
Labs, these included Power Sources, Power Electronics, Quality Assurance, and Calibration &
Metrology, as well as other government agency and projects like NASA's Galileo and Magellan deep
space probes and long life deep space battery, automated thermopile tester for Los Alamos National
Labs. These were hi-accuracy product acceptance testers that conformed to NIST standards.
Responsibilities also included project management managing resource scheduling, cost over-sight, as
well as software and hardware development, many of these projects were multi- million dollar.
Micro Instrumentation and Telemetry Systems (MITS) 4/1/1976- 11/03/1980
Bench repair technician – Responsibilities were to troubleshoot and repair Altair 8800 home
microcomputer which was sold as kits to the home market. Later as the PCC_2000 (Pre-built Altair
8800) small business computer was add I also work on this machine.
