SENIOR TEST ENGINEER

Devised and implemented hardware test approaches in support of development and operations. Led projects from

preliminary planning to on time, on budget delivery.

Developed test automation tools for Test Engineering and Production Test.

Functional/MBI Test Automation – Created a tool to enable rapid development of functional test for production. This

tool is written in industry standard National Instruments – LabWindows package. My goal has been to enable

technicians with no C/C++, or shell programming to develop and maintain the text based scenario modules that define

the tests for the PCAs. Attention was paid to make this work across the spectrum of varied PCAs from CPUs, to

Memory Cards, to LAN Products, Voice Modules, and ATM Trunks. This tool allows a single manufacturing tester to

run multiple stations in tandem.

Software Download Automation – Automation to allow on board software download to PCAs from NETs ISO9000

released software locations. This automation is menu driven and allowed a maintenance free station upon new

product code releases.

Power Supply Test Automation – Developed a PC based, IEEE controlled power supply test system. Standardized

hardware and software interface with a modular approach to adding new units to the test system. Developed tests

using C/C++ and the NI LabWindows package.

Characterization, reproduction and logging of new product release bugs.

Analysis of field failures, and test process/coverage. Implement improvements in process as required.

Designed Hardware/Software for many functional test systems for use at vendors to test misc. assemblies such as

power supplies, PDUs, and Alarm Panels, Battery Back up PCAs.

Developed in house functional test systems using the Fluke 9100A with a bed of nails test fixture.

Developed tests for the In Circuit Test using the Fairchild 333 and HP3070 In Circuit Test Systems.

Wrote test programs for Production Test and Engineering for evaluation of prototypes/pilot units.
