Audiobooks App
Worked on Audiobooks app for OnStar’s In-vehicle head unit. This is an app for listening to audio books where users can browse through the library and play the book they like. As GM Vehicle owners, the customers will get a trial account and 2 free credits that can be used to purchase a book. Once the trial period is over, users can buy monthly subscription from AudioBooks.com.
Used AngularJS to implement the front-end architecture of the app.
Used HTML and stylus CSS for implementing the views.
Created Angular directives as well as services components that be re-used across the app.
Used MongoDB database to create mock API calls for mocking the Audiobooks APIs.
Integrated the app with a MCE (multi channel ecommerce) backend for displaying dynamic ads and performing suitable actions.
Used Mocha, Sinon and Chai for unit testing the code.
Used GM APIs to implement functionalities specific to the GM development environment like reading/writing files from local folders, retrieving vehicle data, rotary control, driver lockout scenarios based on the vehicle speed etc.
Glympse App
Worked on developing the Glympse App for OnStar’s In-vehicle head unit. It is an app for location sharing through text messages. Users can share their location for a limited time by starting a Glympse. A text message is sent to the recipient with a link that can be opened in the mobile browser or with in the Glympse mobile app. The link will contain a map that shows sender’s location and details like speed, destination etc.
Used Backbone.js and jQuery to implement the front-end architecture and various UI components of the app.
Implemented the complete UI using HTML, CSS and image sprites.
Used GM APIs to implement functionalities specific to the GM development environment like reading/writing files from local folders, retrieving vehicle data, rotary control, driver lockout scenarios based on the vehicle speed etc.
Developer Forum and GM SDK development
Supported GM Developer forum for third party / individual developers with a response time of 8-16 hours.
Monitored the forum on a daily basis and responded to technical queries of developers, mostly related to the implementation and testing of the GM APIs.
Responding to queries involved development support, explanation of the API implementation, testing the GM APIs on Bosch/Panasonic head units as well as fixing bugs in the GM SDK.
