A problem solver who is primarily an IT professional with secondary experience in operations research, teaching, management and aviation. Since semi-retired from 2001-2011 I devoted myself to implementing a dynamic, multidimensional system for the Coast Guard Auxiliary. This system has yielded million dollar savings for the Coast Guard, and I received numerous awards including the Community Service Award presented by the New York Federal Executive Board at a ceremony at Ellis Island (e.g. plaques). I seek work in software development where I can use my abilities in software and math, and statistics.

Foundation Software Inc. July 2011 – June 2013, Developer. Software development and maintenance of the core product. Developed the new MS Office Integration product. PowerBuilder, TSQL, VB.NET, VBA.

Self Multiple PERL and PHP Web-Scraping projects to automate Web processing, data downloads, computations, and decision applications, including preflight weather analysis.

Self: Implemented a server-side Prolog service for use in distributing business logic in prolog, and executing the logic from the client-side; written in PERL and Javascript.

Jenny Engineering Corporation, 2004-2005. Assisted Treasurer in choice of next accounting package including Vendor and corporate relations, product cross-evaluations, and requirements analysis.

USCG Auxiliary, January 2002 – 2009 Developer. (1) Developed web-based Flight Assignment and Scheduling application for USCGAux district aviation operations: PERL / PHP / CGI / MySQL / Linux / XML / XSL / HTML / Javascript (www.netskeds.us). ‘Netskeds’ is currently used to schedule, dispatch and manage 500-person membeship, 60-aircraft fleet, 2000+operations per year, all aviation patrols over the NorthEast and NorthWest US (comparable to the activities of a small airline), and is in consideration as a National application. Approximately 50,000 lines of ActiveState Activeperl are organized into 132 modules containing hundreds of SQL commands. MySQL database is organized into more than 22 tables, 420 fields, and 46 indexes. WAP/WAM/WML was employed usine PHP to deliver selected information to member mobile phones. PHP web scraping is used to interact with CSC/Duats Web Site to collect route weather data and then to color-code and reformat for simpler presentation. (2) Managed all information processing for USCG Auxiliary Division 10.

Developed automatic billing application (MS Access(SQL)/VBA), highly-specialized editor for market research data (VB6 and .NET), Cluster Formation application (MS Excel/Powerpoint/VBA), Data Transformation and Analysis application (MS Excel/VBA/SQL), specialized correlation and indexed correlation applications (VB6), application “umbrella” for workflow automation (VB6), Turf; ‘unaided reach and frequency’ analysis and (MS Excel/Powerpoint/VBA), Conjoint Analysis designer using fractional-factorial techniques in VB.NET, Modified and expanded applications in Lahey Fortran: Cluster Analysis, Discriminant Function Analysis, Distributed Allocation Analysis, Factor Analysis, Hierarchical Clustering, Pile Sort Analysis, Profile Analyses, Quadrant Analysis, Torsca, Qanal, Standardization, and others.

Developed hedge fund cross-margining production prototype applying Operations Research (OR) algorithms to optimize margin calls and collateral transfers for financial products including repos, futures, swaps, derivatives. Bank of Tokyo. Developed fast automated Federal regulatory reporting system using VBA with objects on Microsoft Office Professional Access(SQL), Excel, and Word ’97 replacing Paradox, Visual dBase, FoxPro and Clipper systems. Developed automatic parsers and script converters for back-office user system replacement. Y2K remediation, conversions, and rewrites.
