Responsibilities were managing a remote eight bed hospital in the central highlands of Papua New Guinea. Over seeing the health of over 500 on site personnel an several thousand local natives. Supervised fifteen personnel. Scope of practice included emergent OB as well as the multitudes of tropical diseases that affected Chevron personnel to include various emergent conditions. Coordinated follow up care with various specialties and arranged emergency evacuation as needed. Conducted numerous site visits to oversea local clinics established by Chevron and run by indiginent personnel. Established training programs and instructed indiginent health care providers.

Sep 1992 - Jan 1994 Director of Medical Services, 720th Special Tactics Group, Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC). Hurlburt Field, Fla. Duties included developing and supervising 200 Pararescue personnel assigned to the command. Personnel were responsible for providing emergency medical care and evacuation under combat and other adverse conditions. Developed a training program with the US Special Operations command to bring all Spec Ops medical Personnel up to national accreditation as EMT I through Paramedic. Responsible for reviewing and rewriting appropriate regulations. Liaison to AFSOC Command Surgeon. Director of Foreign Internal Defense for the Special Tactics Group. Conducting training for various personnel through Central and South America and Asia. Served as Special Tactics officer staff officer to Central Command during Operation Desert Storm. Oversight on various tactical missions as well as medical plans and logistics. The only USAF Physician Assistant on Dive and Jump Status.

Oct 1986 - Sept. 1991 Assigned as staff physician assistant, Hurlburt Field Clinic. An out patient clinic providing primary and emergent care to the base population (approximately 21,000 patients) age range infant to mid 50's. Developed a, “house call,” program to provide care for dependants of deployed personnel unable to come to the clinic.

Sept 1985 - Oct 1986 Assigned staff physician assistant, Primary care clinic, USAF Regional Hospital, Eglin AFB Fla. Patient population > 90,000.

Oct 1982 - Sept 1985 Assigned physician assistant, Department of Otolaryngology, USAF Regional Hospital, Elmendorf AFB, Anchorage Alaska. Duties included out patient and in patient care for all ENT patients as well as first assist in the OR. On arrival at this assignment the clinic had a 5 week backlog for appointments and was doing 11 surgical procedures per week. Within 6 months we had same day appointments and were doing 30-40 procedures a week.
