SELECTED ACCOMPLISHMENTS

. Currently part of team rebuilding / rebranding the Nazdar and Nazdar

SourceOne websites.

. Worked as part of a team to concept, redesign and produce the new

americancentury.com web site. This was a 2 year project in which I

collaborated with multiple business channels, information design teams,

web IT, management and outside consultants to create a contemporary

user friendly web site which launched in the spring of 2008.

. Was brought in to develop a web video/multimedia proof-of-concept

prototype for upper management at American Century in 2000. This was

successful in showing that we could deliver investment portfolio rep

presentations online and produce our own videos internally saving tens

of thousands of dollars. I received an Innovation award for this

project. This lead us to create an A/V studio which still produces

much internal and external content.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

I worked for Hallmark Cards, Inc 17 years (1983 through 2000) as a graphic

artist. After Hallmark I worked for American Century Investments for 7.75

years (2000 through 2008) as a Senior Interactive Designer in their e-

commerce user experience team. I freelanced from 2008 to 2010. In 2010 I

started working for Nazdar as a web designer and am currently employed

there.

I am currently a Web Designer for Nazdar Inks & Coatings.

Below is a brief chronology, starting with most recent positions.

2010-CURRENT Web Designer Nazdar Inks & Coatings KC, MO

Web Designer

. Manage / maintain 3 websites and 1 intranet site

. Produce eBlast email marketing campaigns for US and European

distribution (deploy with ReachMail)

. Develop marketing materials as part of the marketing team

. Manage Google AdWords and analytics

. Create some 3D renderings in Blender for trade show booth layout and

video

Senior Interactive Designer

. Worked as part of a team and with consultants for 2 years on a complete

redesign of the American Century website, including our three business

channel sites (Direct, Intermediary and Institutional). This was known

as our "One Company Online" initiative. Within the 2 years of work I

was involved with brainstorming, planning, look & feel concepting, card

sorting and execution of final page layout designs and graphic content.

. Once the site was operational I continued to be a part of the ongoing

maintenance and upkeep of design content and new landing pages using

the content management tool RedDot.

. Worked with the Corporate Brand department as part of an advisory board

to help develop new brand standard guidelines.

. Continued to work with Direct Marketing on online campaign projects.

. Currently a member of NAPP, the National Association of Photoshop

Interactive Designer

. Moved from the Institutional Business Group (IBG) to the Direct

Marketing eCommerce department in 2004 to give design support to the

Direct channel web site.

. Maintained and update web graphic content (photos, banners, Flash

banners and multimedia), designed new web page layouts and marketing

landing pages.

. Worked with Direct Marketing teams to develop online campaign design

content that would echo their offline direct mail campaigns.

. Responsible to design content for promotional landing pages, banners,

Flash banners, charts and investment calculators.

. Designed Flash based In Retirement calculator that tied into internal

server databases to help clients plan their investments for retirement.

. Was one of several designers on a team that designed the online

components of the Lance Armstrong LIVESTRONG campaign.

. Typically worked with outside vendors, consultants and ad agencies on

many of our major marketing campaigns. A few of these agencies were

Bernstein-Rein and twoWest.

2002-2004 American Century Investments KC, MO

Portfolio Content Specialist (web & multimedia design)

. Shifted from the Portfolio Advisory Group (PAG) to the Institutional

Business Group (IBG) to be lead designer on a redesign of the

Institutional channel web site. The project went for a little over a

year. I worked with a New York consultant firm CorpBrand.

. Once the site was built, I then maintained the design and graphic

content.

. Worked with Institutional Marketing on promotional materials, both on

and off line.

. Produced Flash based multimedia for trade shows and for internal

communications from upper management to the department.

. Used Omniture SiteCatalyst to track site usage data and create

statistical reports for Marketing.

2000-2002 American Century Investments KC, MO

Portfolio Content Specialist (multimedia design)

. Started at American Century Investments in 2000 after one of their

managers learned about me from someone inside Hallmark. Was sought out

for a special pet multimedia project for VP, Jim Stowers III, the owner

of American Century's son.

. This project was dubbed ACTV. It was a multimedia proof-of-concept

prototype to put video commentary from investment portfolio managers on

the web site. It was successful and I was nominated, by Jim Stowers

III, and received a company innovation award.

. This prototype then led to my involvement in the creation of an

Audio/Video studio which would continue to produce A/V content for

internal and external online needs.

. Started and headed up an internal multimedia user group, MMF

(multimedia forum) to foster the inter-departmental idea sharing,

communication and creativity. Occasionally I would bring in guest

speakers from Adobe/Macromedia, and the like, to share cutting edge

information on tools and technology to help us with our work.

1990-2000 Hallmark Cards, Inc. KC, MO

Web Content Artist

. My last few years with Hallmark was with Hallmark.com as a web content

artist, developing and preparing images and layouts for the

Hallmark.com web site. I also concepted ideas for site improvement and

redesign through prototypes using Flash, JavaScript, HTML and DHTML.

Artist III / Digital Design

. Hallmark card digital artist, creating greeting card product. I helped

to pioneer digital art production and work flow issues as member of

digital design pilot team called ADVANTAGE.

. Served the Hallmark creative digital community as resident

guru/expert/power user.

. Developed web sites, web graphics and consult on freelance basis.

. Beta tested Adobe, Metacreations and Macromedia design applications

whenever new versions are introduced to Hallmark. Give beta feedback

to Hallmark and respective software developers.

. Worked with Hallmark.com on animated greeting projects.

. Independently became involved with web design and multimedia (late

80's/early 90's).

. Consultant and Creative Director of "start-up" multimedia company,

Morning Star (1992 while still maintaining career at Hallmark).

. Initiated and conducted a 3-day Corel Painter workshop for Hallmark

artists.

. Independently contracted by Step 1 to create curriculum and teach web

graphic design classes (Freehand to Sprint and Photoshop to Hoechst

Marion Roussel, Inc.).

Artist III / Early digital pioneer and explorations teams

. Moved to Greeting Card Design in 1985 to design card product.

. Became involved with computers independently and continued to research

their potential (via my home studio 1985-90).

. Worked on freelance basis for local independent filmmaker (Wade

Williams) to produce title multi-plane glass illustrations/effects for

Attack from Mars (formerly Midnight Movie

Massacre), also executed some story boards for effects shots (1984).

This film went straight to DVD. I am listed on IMDb.com for this work.

. Was asked to become involved with a pioneer team to get Hallmark into

digital art creation using PC based TARGA systems and custom software

(1986).

. Was promoted to TARGA computer lab manager and group supervisor (1987).

. Represented Hallmark at many major computer graphic conventions across

country.

. Moved into new digital front end group (Hallmark Blue Moon Studio) to

investigated and transitioned to the Mac platform with Photoshop,

Painter, Illustrator and other apps.
