Shift Leader Benteler Automotive May 2012 – Nov 2014

• Reporting to the General Manager and responsible for 100 employees on shift

• Tier one supplier into Chrysler and a just in time, demanding environment, one to two hours between

production and delivery to customer

• Ability to increase production and through put to the required 72 jph with a perfect safety record, migrated

from two leaders on shift, to only one

• Responsible for the 5S, H&S requirements and the implementation of headcount reduction on shift

• CAW unionized shop, responsible for the discipline of the employee’s as required

• Lead in the reduction of overtime on shift with the improvements in through put, quality and stability of the

workforce on the shift

• Overseeing decommissioning of the plant, selling or scraping all assets as required

Operations Manager Ceva Logistics Oshawa June 2011 – February 2012

• Reporting to the General Manager and responsible for 140 employees on shift including 5 supervisors

• Oversee the safety and through put in a challenging, unionized environment.

• Facilitate execution of LEAN in the department along with 5S and all H&S requirements

• Oversee operation of over 100 lift trucks per shift and sequencing auto parts to the end customers

Production Manager Magna Powertrain Mississauga September 2010 – November 2010

• Reporting to the Assistant General Manager and responsible for the all operations for machining and

assembly side of the building including 9 major auto OEM programs, three supervisors and over 250

employee’s

• Responsible for safety, quality, through put and overseeing the implementation of LEAN in the department

• Review of failed parts in house and review of warranty returned parts and the issuing of cost recoveries

Powertrain Resident Manager, Plant #1&2 Oshawa June 2003 – November 2008

• Maintaining engine and transmission quality from 4 supplying plants in the USA and Canada and feeding

back information and suspect parts for any quality issues that impact the assembly plants

• Review of returned warranty parts and the disposition of these parts to the appropriate owners such as plant

or supplier with proper cost recovery

• Push these defects back to the appropriate owners (suppliers etc.) to improve the direct run of the assembly

plants

• Launching new Powertrain configurations in new products Powertrain PTR’s and assisting with

engineering changes that affect the plant

• Implement cost cutting procedures such as in house repairs using helicoil’s to reduce scrap costs and in

house flash / repair of engine and transmission controllers. These two alone save almost $200,000.00 cdn. in

the first year of introduction

• Writing standardized work for corporate implementation of above cost cutting procedures to give the

savings a global perspective instead of stand-alone site usage

• Interact with the dealers to root cause powertrain issues in a timely manner and focus on the customer’s

requirements so we have them for life
