Created a forecasting system that was rolled out globally down to specific SKU levels with
over 100 operators supplying data. Analysed the data to show where there were lost sales and
opportunities to harness. Presenting data with recommendations at monthly global demand
reviews which lead to the company releasing capitol for major investments. Establishing
procedures and systems for reviewing high level supply plan for three plants in USA & Brazil
to maximise capacities. Identified areas where unexpected losses were occurring. Developing
plans to ensure total demand could be accepted through cross- qualifications where
appropriate. Ensuring all raw materials were correctly forecast and moved demand to other
locations if required due to production issues or raw material availability. Advised and
recommended global options which could be acted upon. Worked closely with all functional
groups to ensure all value add opportunities were captured. First point of contact for difficult
situations with customers to find creative solutions to supply chain issues.

Improved uptime and slashed waste levels due to inefficiencies. Reduced run outs due to raw
material supplies and availability. Counselled European colleagues on opportunities for
improvement to ensure best manufacturing efficiencies while meeting customer requirements.
Worked closely with customers to ensure systems were in place to meet their requirements.
Additionally held Sales Management responsibility for largest customer in USA who was
supplied materials from the three sites. Represented NA on IBP - Smart program through

July 2007 – Nov 2011 Ahlstrom,

Transferred from Scotland to Green Bay and successfully set up formal Planning and Supply
Chain systems at a time when all lines were oversold and lead times were increasing. The
site moved from 10,000 tons capacity in 2007 to 20,000 tons in 2009 with no increase to
Supply Chain staffing, reduced lead time, improved on-time shipping and customer
satisfaction. Outside warehousing was eliminated, consignment contracts established with
main suppliers. Working Capital was halved in the first two years. The site is viewed as a
bench mark site for Working Capital & inventory control, flexibility and customer
relationships. Responsible for chairing the business unit Global Sourcing meetings, 12 month
rolling sales forecast, and the Plant Perfect Value Stream Pillar.

Aug 2005 – June 2007 Ahlstrom,
Chirnside, Scotland, Supply Chain Manager
Rebuilt the Planning Logistics and Customer Care team with a reduction of seven staff after
the closure of a centralised Sales office in April 2005. Responsible for ensuring the most cost
efficient and effective basis for supply and purchase of raw materials, planning the machines
and logistics while ensuring the highest level of customer services. Established the Supply
Chain Pillar and achieved a 25-day reduction in Working Capital with a 75% reduction in
outside warehousing.
