First Energy- Perry Plant

Work Week Manager - develop plans for maintenance activities to be conducted with the plant on line. Develop plans (including fragnets as appropriate) that support the ability to complete maintenance in a safe, cost effective manner and in full compliance with government regulations, industry standards, and company policies. Responsible for the management of the implementing week work scope using traditional project management tools and techniques. Managing and coordinate multiple system or window outages, while the plant is on line. Aware and capable of verifying emergent risk impact using the numerical PSA tools. Direct and coordinate activities related to scheduling, preparation, and performance of work activities for the assigned work weeks. Ensure station work groups perform assigned task per station work management processes and procedures. Coordinate activities related to scheduling, preparation, and performance of various station activities. Interface with all station organizations to identify, prioritize, prepare for, schedule, implement and document work related to emergent plant issues. Responsible for organizing multiple pieces of information from various organizations to develop and implement on-line schedule plans. Ensure PM tasks / surveillance tests are appropriately scheduled and performed. Perform Emergency Response Organization duties. During Refueling Outages performed the task of ISI /IVVI night shift Project Manager.

Great Lakes Construction Co. Project Manager/Field Engineer

Nottingham Water Treatment Facility – Euclid, Ohio

Collinwood Sports Complex – Cleveland, Ohio

$11 million ( $18 Million with changes ) Water Treatment plant & a $7 ($8 Million with changes ) million sports complex. - Responsible for all aspects of client interface, cost estimates, managing the day to day operation of the projects. Providing engineering responses to field problems to the A/E. Responsibilities similar to NASA project detailed below. Developed and maintained P3 schedule. Brownfield Remediation was performed at the Football Field.

June 2003 – November 2004

Great Lakes Construction Co. Project Manager/Field Engineer

NASA Plumbrook, Test Facility – Sandusky, Ohio

Scheduled craft and subcontractor coordination, client liaison, cost estimates, change cost negations, etc in the construction, start up and testing of this $17 Million ($ 2.7 Million with changes) facility. Developed and maintained P3 schedule. This contract was changed to a Deign / Build after award due to issues with the A/E. Resolved all field issues with the A/E. Contaminated soil was found on the project and remediation was performed as part of an addition to the contract.

July 2000 – February 2003

National Engineering & Contracting Company Project Manager

Spectracite Communications Project - Ohio, Michigan, Kentucky and West Virginia

Construction to start-up of 300 ($275 Million) cell towers (both raw land and co-locations). Project Manager - duties included site development, FAA interface, Zoning Board interface, site design, material delivery, contract administration, development and implementation of craft training.

December 1999 – July 2000

National Engineering & Contracting Company Senior Project Manager/Superintendent

Berlin Lake Dam, Berlin, Ohio

Managed all aspects of this $9 million Army Corps of Engineers dam modification Project. Wrote all specification required procedures for this project in accordance with specification requirements. Craft Superintendent for the project. Resolved all Field issues with the Army Corps of Engineers & was the Certified QA Manager.

July 1997 – December 1999

National Engineering & Contracting Company/ Senior Project Manager

Southerly Wastewater Treatment Plant – Cleveland, Ohio

Hired to manage this $17 million (with changes exceeded $25 Million) contract that was behind schedule and over budget. Performed all equipment testing, material procurement, engineering services, budget and schedule development & maintance of all installed equipment. Completed project on-time based on revised approved schedule. Lead and Asbestos abatement was performed.

January 1994 – July 1997

Cleveland Electric Illuminating Company Project Manager

Perry Nuclear Power Plant, Perry, Ohio

Managed development of the Maintenance Rule mandated by the federal government. This was a $1.5 million project. Managed budget, contract administration, and the supervision of 12 employees. Six months of this time period was the acting assignment Manager of System Engineering.

Cleveland Electric Illuminating Company Predictive Maintenance Supervisor- System Engineering

Perry Nuclear Power Plant, Perry, Ohio

Supervised 21 people during the implementation of the In-service Inspection and Test Program required by ASME XI – including completion response to the NRC Generic Letter 89-04. Responsible for Appendix J testing, hydrostatic testing, snubber testing and plant predictive maintenance - $3 million to $7 million annual budget. Was also responsible for the writing of technical specifications, bid process, bid evaluation and all other contract administration duties for refueling contracts required to support ASME section XI testing.. As INPO training representative, developed and implemented engineer training for the System Engineering Section & Shift Engineers. During Outages ran all program field testing in the plant for LLRT’s, ISI/IST/IVVI

October 1988 – January 1990

Cleveland Electric Illuminating Company Shift Outage Director

Perry Nuclear Power Plant, Perry, Ohio

Managed 12 people whose responsibility was to perform a technical review of the project schedule for the first refueling outage. Supervised Assistant Shift Outage Directors and implemented P/2 schedule along with management for the refueling outage. Served as an alternate for the System Engineering manager on the Plant Operations Review Board 1986 through 1989.

Cleveland Electric Illuminating Company Project Work Control Supervisor

Perry Nuclear Power Plant, Perry, Ohio

Developed and implemented the Project Work Center, which controls the work processed through the control room when plant is operational through Plan of the Day. Developed an integrated program that schedules surveillance, preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance for daily work at the plant.

Cleveland Electric Illuminating Company Shift Outage Director

Perry Nuclear Power Plant, Perry, Ohio

Assigned to an operations crew that assured plant testing was completed, along with work required to support efficient plant start-up. Assisted control room in facets of operation from construction to completion. Duties involved assuring that plant become operational promptly after forced or planned outages, and assisted with development of all outage procedures.

Perry Nuclear Power Plant, Perry, Ohio -- Civil/Structural/Pipe Support/ Stress Analysis Section

Managed design procurement and install of all piping hangers on site to support plant start-up. Supervised staff of 138 including field and office engineers in support of construction installation of hangers and the IE 79-14 program. Contract Administrator for the CEI design consultant, Nuclear Power Services. Supervised revisions to the Seismic Clearance Violation Criteria and its implementation. Procured material for hanger parts to support revised hanger designs. Managed design configuration management control of pipe support and design. Responsible for construction of a 60,000 sq. foot two-story office building and a 4000 sq. ft one-story on-site building to support construction.

Managed two structural steel erection and procurement contracts, as both design engineer and contract administrator. Resolved problems, design changes, material procurement and approval of all contractor procedures for the structural steel contracts

Newport New Industrial Corporation of Ohio/ (Tenneco Subsidiary) Lead Field Engineer

Perry Nuclear Power Plant, Perry, Ohio (PNPP)

Responsible for erection, testing and operation of a 1300 ton Lampson Transi-Lift crane. Two 580-ton reactor containment domes and 50 various other lifts completed. Calculated designs and wrote procedures for all lifts and lifting rigs. Designed heavy haul roads for the Transi-Lift crane transport on site.

Newport New Industrial Corporation of Ohio/ PNPP Field Project Engineer

Responsible for all engineering aspects of construction of a twin unit 1205 MS BWR facility (structural contracts), including design, structural engineering, weld engineering and document control. This involved equipment/vendor selection, procedure approval and discrepancy resolution, and all departmental administration functions. Use of ASME & AWS codes were used.

Wrote installation instructions/procedures for the Nuclear Steam Supply System Contract. Reviewed/approved drawings and vendor manuals. Liaison for client/architect engineer discrepancy resolution. Resolved all field issues with the design engineer

North Anna Nuclear Power Plant, Mineral, Virginia Construction Field Engineer – Supervisor

Worked with design, construction, and craft supervision of test activities through commercial operation for the completion of Unit #1. Performed an administration function of two insulation subcontractors, including craft supervision, construction engineering and project management. Was a Start Up and Test Engineer for Unit 1 & 2. Westinghouse – 3 loop PWR. Developed weld packages and isometrics for field run piping – use of B31.1, ASME and AWS codes. Was the Field Engineer for the Safeguards area for Unit 1 &2.
