Network:

• Based on business and security requirements from the college; engineered and implemented a

new campus network design including VLAN structure, Access List, Switch, Router and Firewall

design.

• Installed, configured, and managed Cisco and HP ProCurve switches, Fortigate firewalls.

• Configured and managed Cisco switches in all dorms with set VLAN structure and access lists.

• Worked with vendor and ISP to design, install, and configure separate dedicated internet circuit

for dorm population effectively relieving overburdened existing shared connection. Campus now

has two dedicated circuits allowing business to flow freely without slowness/interruption from

enormous video traffic from dorms.

• Fortigate firewall configured to handle both circuits through policy routing. Additionally, firewall is

configured to handle all content filtering.

• Configured HP Procurve Layer 3 switch as router for “hub and spoke” network campus wide

allowing for main buildings to have direct fiber runs. Network is segmented allowing for time

saving troubleshooting methodologies.

• Designed and implemented campus-wide Enterasys/Extreme WLAN through Active Directory,

RADIUS server, and Enterasys HiPath Wireless Controller. Student/Guest/Mobile population have

separation through WLAN Controller access policies as well as AD and firewall policies.

• Worked with vendor to configure wireless backhaul bridges between various buildings

eliminating fiber connections.

• Designed and implemented campus-wide Antivirus/Endpoint Security system using SOPHOS

• Network monitoring through Solar Winds and HP ProCurve Manager. Make necessary

adjustments to ensure continued speed, stability, and security.

• Implemented Application Control through Sophos effectively blocking unwanted/unauthorized

and potentially dangerous software.

• Documented network configurations and changes with Visio diagrams.

• Submit network improvement/solution ideas to IT Director. Discuss pros and cons. Research

products and vendors. Oversee project from start to finish.

Windows Domain and Active Directory:

• Installation and administration of physical servers and blade servers in Windows Server

2008/2012 VMWare and native environment.

• VMware vSphere Platform (version 5 & newer) - including ESXi vCenter, UpdateManager,

cloning, install and setup of VM.

• Install, configure, manage, and troubleshoot (VDI)Virtual Desktop Environment with View

Manager 6.0

• Installation and administration of Web/FTP Servers and virtual servers in DMZ
