Superintendent/Bus Maintenance 8/2005 to 12/2014

The Maintenance Superintendent is responsible for managerial, supervisory, technical and administrative bus maintenance work involving the direction of the maintenance function of a maintenance division. I am responsible for managing, through subordinate supervisors, the day to day maintenance of a 150 bus division and for planning and developing the resources required to accomplish an effective division maintenance program to meet established schedule requirements. Work in accordance with established guidelines and administrative policies. As maintenance superintendent I am responsible for managing the division budget and oversee the payroll for the staff to include 72 maintenance employees and 4 management staff, to include overtime and special projects. Evaluate and discuss performance with subordinate personnel Monitors the preventive maintenance program and insures compliance with all modules established by the Department. Reviews daily reports (accidents, violations, absenteeism, workers compensation and work orders). I work daily at maintaining an effective work relationship with both internal and external organizations.

Garage Shift Supervisor/Bus Maintenance 12/1997 to 08/2005

As a Garage Shift Supervisor, this job carries a wide variety of responsibilities.

I supervise technical vehicle maintenance work involving inspection, disassembly, rebuild/repair, assembly and installation of large and small electric/pneumatic/ hydraulic components as well as preventative, corrective, body and paint for all aspects of vehicle maintenance systems for garage and shop activities. Supervise and plan inspection and preventive maintenance for Authority buses. I prioritize work to ensure availability to meet planning schedules. Supervise maintenance personnel and monitor work assignments and quality of work being performed by skilled and unskilled bus mechanics that inspect service and repair all types of mechanical and electrical problems. Responsible for monitoring attendance, payroll, sick leave and annual leave. Administers discipline when required and the ability to counsel employees on work performance to achieve maximum efficiency. Performs annual employee evaluations. Evaluates performance and registers staff for required training. Prepares and completes oral, written and electronic reports and documentation for management needs and evaluation.

Mechanic “A” / Bus Maintenance 10/1987 to 12/1997

Worked as a mechanic doing a variety of duties, including inspection of fleet,

performing routine scheduled maintenance, troubleshooting all types of problems.

Operate tow truck to recover buses that malfunction while in service. Perform

various types of repairs to include, Brake jobs, chassis work, steering components

and electrical troubleshooting and repair. Utilized various computer programs to

diagnose Cummins, Allison, Hybrid and other electrical systems installed on transit

coaches to pull fault codes and pinpoint component failures.
