Responsibilities:

. Review all inspection reports are signed.

. Inspection of repaired joints, rejected during NDT.

. Monitor weld repair rate and implement corrective action to reduce the

repair rate.

. Inspection and thickness calculation of Drums, Vessels, Tanks,pipes

by UT method.

. To monitor the progress of piping fabrication and erection.

. Supervision of pipe fit ups in site and shop.

Responsibilities:

. Inspection of welding electrodes that the welding electrodes should

not be in damage condition.

. Maintaing the temperature of welding electrodes in baking and holding

ovens according to WPS.

. Ensure the correct interpass temperature is maintained as per WPS.

. Ensure post heating, soaking and cooling as per WPS.

. Daily inspection of pipe fit ups of large and small bore pipes.

. Verification of Material traceably records and ensures that only

Acceptable materials are used.

. Minimum & maximum preheat temperature is maintained in accordance with

WPS if required.

. Checking of essential variables like current, voltage, polarity,

Temperature, filler wire, electrodes etc.

. Ensure that Inspection / Testing equipments at site are with valid

Calibration.

. Co-ordination with post welds heat treatment and NDT Sub contractors.

. Maintain & update all quality related documents at site.

. Ensure that to transfer the Specification and Heat Number during the

cutting of pipe.

. To check the fit up stage prior and confirm that root gap, off set,

bevel angle are with in acceptable limit.

. Monitoring the calibration of test instruments and equipments.

. To monitor fabrication and erection of pipe supports as per isometric

drawings.

Other Duties and responsibilities:

1. Witness the HYDROTEST at site and shop as per the test pressure.

2. Witness the PNEUMATIC test activities for spools

10. Conduct Toolbox talk weekly to welders and pipefitters to reduce

repair rate.
