I worked in the capacity of Cost Engineer/ Employers Agent. My primary project was £44 million civils and Infrastructure

works relating to remediation and reclamation of contaminated Ministry of Defense land, Construction of drainage, roads &

parks and associated soft and hard landscaping.

I also worked on a £16 million regeneration of a mix use 1960s town shopping centre to provide private and affordable

housing, retail, office accommodation, improved public amenities and landscaping.

Arcadis / EC Harris 2008 2013

I worked as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor/ Cost Engineer involved in a delivery of £1 billion 5 year framework Utilities

Capital Delivery Contract. My role involved providing Cost and Commercial Service on portfolio of projects in the London

area. Total portfolio value was approximately £90 million. Projects included flooding schemes, wastewater pumping

stations, railway crossings, pipe replacements, storage reservoirs, trunk mains Gravity sewers and trenchless tunnels.

Barhale Construction PLC 2005 2008

Sub Agent on Flood alleviation project; £4.3 million Capital Investment programme. Carried out post Contract Agent duties

in the client’s office for the scheme, which operated as a Partnership under a Framework Agreement.

Duties and Responsibilities

Cost planning and estimating using company’s in house database and BCIS,

•

Taking off quantities from a construction drawings and using AutoCAD

•

Weekly/ monthly cost reporting, cash flow forecasting in line with initial budget,

•

Cost value analyses, Earn value analyses, actual cost auditing and final account,

•

Administration of variations to contract including challenging and agreement with the contractors

•

Attending Design Team Meetings and advising clients on cost

•

Auditing and approving consultant and contractor’s invoices

•

Challenge of contractor’s Target Costs and data collection for input into the database so it is in the correct format

•

Develop strong working relationships with clients and the rest of the project team

Ensure repeat business through extension of purchase orders

Estimating packages of work prior to tender

Liaison with partnering contractors to ensure they prepare commercial information in accordance with client’s
