Support Clinical Operations for all Janssen R&D clinical studies through the development and implementation of category

Supported ALZA Research and Development and New Product Launch Organizations. Responsibilities included sourcing raw

materials, representing sourcing department on cross-functional R&D teams, coordinating with Commercial Manufacturing on

relationship between J&J and ALZA R&D personnel.

• Identified, selected, and managed sources of supply for critical active pharmaceutical

ingredients (API’s) and excipients in support of transdermal and oral R&D platforms.

manufacturer in support of a new product launch.

• Negotiated a multi-year, $5MM dollar exclusive supply agreement with a key API

manufacturer.

Business Review meetings with ALZA R&D Management, which resulted in more collaborative

working relationships between J&J and ALZA R&D.

• Monitored supplier performance via metrics such as on-time delivery, incoming quality,

responsiveness, and service value.

• Supervised a Senior Buyer responsible for purchasing direct materials in support of R&D

programs.

• Partnered with ALZA Shipping and Receiving Department and J&J Global Traffic Department

toward development of Customs Compliance guidelines and procedures, which resulted in

increased Customs compliance.

• Led process improvement efforts that reduced supplier establishment cycle time by more than

50% in 2007.
