SUMMARY

I am a professional Mechanical Engineer with varied experience in three different field environments,

which are oil and gas, ships & marine equipment systems, and research lab for mechanical design, and

solid mechanics. The varied experience provided me a unique background to solve multi-subjects

problems with the optimized solutions and develop the continuous improvement to the facilities business

unit. Those solutions and improvement saved my employers millions.

Lead and manage multi-disciplined reliability engineering teams (approx. 40+) responsible for improving,

growing and leading the engineering resources through all phases of new product development, involve

contributions to front-end, detailed engineering, and construction project phases. Develop and nurture a

safe, high performance, high discipline, accountable, focused, innovative and achievement-oriented work

force to ensure high and safety performance within the departments.

Ensure all required reporting data is current, complete and properly filed. Also ensure all corporate

policies and expectations are met and all regulatory requirements are being satisfied at all times.

Review / approve all technical engineering projects and provide required technical, includes checking and

signing off all calculations/analysis provided by the designers.

Work with other managers to maximize cross functional effectiveness. Develop and maintain an

operational plan for their area with on-going cost management, budget control and performance

management.

Work with senior staff to identify strategic facility infrastructure requirements. Ensure proper resourcing

and tactical delivery plans are in place to ensure fit for purpose, safe, cost effective facilities are designed

and constructed to meet oil development plans and schedules.

Responsible for all oil facility, capital expenditures, budget development, and ensuring Project

Management processes are in place for successful outcomes and recommendations for the whole

Business Unit (e.g. Modified Air compressor location vs. the heater – Shut-off control, Modified the

poster pump skid’s pipeline to the bladder tanks, etc.)

Build strong relationships and understand client priorities to ensure alignment with expected results

(scope, cost and timing) and actively participate and promote AOC EH&S policies with staff, vendors and

suppliers

Lead senior engineers in critical projects, Review / assure that pressure equipment documentations are

acceptable to Alberta Regulatory.

Troubleshoot and resolve all issues related to the piping system at various phases of the design and during

construction.

Generated, Reviewed and finalized all PSVs, and PCVs data sheets, Led and approved the Integrity

Assessments of the pressure equipment, Led the integrity management program for the PTMAA.

Supervising project team in preparation of project feasibility studies and reports, pipeline routing exercises,

development of cost estimates, project risk analyses and conceptual, preliminary and detailed design work

Applied ASME B31.8S ‘Pipeline Integrity Management for Natural Gas’ on the pipeline system (where,

estimating and monitoring the remaining service life of the pipeline system is in progress.)

Contributed and managed verities of projects (i.e. freezing of firewater pipeline, design high-pressure

pipeline for a valve testing machine, potable water pipeline project, upgrading the planet firing

suppression system etc.)

Led one of the company’s biggest T/A (turn-around) in Secondary Upgrading plant

Represented the reliability engineering in the facilities business unit central function team (CFT)

Responsible for the management of FEED, detailed design engineering and procurement of the pipeline

scope of the Athabasca Pipeline Twinning Project under the Upstream Facilities Projects team.

Manage pipeline design that meets project requirements while minimizing capital and/or operating costs.

Coordinate with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure design details are addressed in a

thorough manner.

Manage the work of internal technical disciplines and third party engineering services providers to ensure

quality engineering products and support are delivered.

Responsible for PEP, DBM, schedule, pipelines design, assign deliverables to discipline, supervise

discipline engineers, project drawings review, preparation of scope of work for construction, work

prioritize, pre- qualifying and selection of contractors, Construction Management, as build and closed out.

Prepared and reviewed pipeline specs, pipeline basis of design, data sheets, pig launcher/receiver

specifications /general arrangement drawings for the pig trap systems, pipe wall thickness calculations,

hydro-test pressure calculations, buried pipelines and road crossing analysis, upheaval buckling and

hydro-testing, technical bid evaluation/vendor data evaluation of piping/pipeline.

Developed the required modification repairs through analyzing the tresses of the trestle steel structure of

the wash ramp, managed the project, and commissioned it, (maximum capacity of 33.0 tons, 11.0

ton/axel)

Designed pipeline for high pressure, developed the construction scope include the control and

overpressure protection instrumentation.

Developed the required design criteria for Steel Wash Ramp with maximum capacity of 60 tons (15

ton/axel)

Modified the nozzle’s reinforcement and completed all the required ABSA CED

Calculated the safety factors of a Domestic Hot Water Tank at its threaded plugs and couplings to double

check its operational safety.

Provided the required fluid dynamic stress analysis of the natural gas pipeline to increase its capacity this

modification was proven success during this current winter. I earned Suncor’s Operation Excellence

award for this work.

Modified the electrical cable configuration of a hydraulic left to provide safer operations’ activities

Participated in the fatigue crack initiation model in steel AM350 development

Applied Stress Analysis and Fracture Mechanics packages (ANASYS, and ABAQUS) on more than four

projects, i.e. drainage corrugated plate to support trucks, define the life service of a notched steel plate

component, etc.

Extensive use of Pressure Equipment design codes and the ability to identify, and solve problems in static

equipment (i.e. heat exchangers, vessels, boilers, and control instrumentation, i.e. PSV, PCV, VT, etc.)

Designed both of the loading train and the two heat exchangers for the automated testing machines to

protect the load cell from the heat effects

Extensive use of engine management systems, emissions compliance testing and Vehicle Embedded

Controls

Modified the hydraulic system using the fast relief valves, which is used to mount the sheet specimens on

the testing machines

Dynamic analysis of various Rigid-Multi-body mechanical systems, Designed prototype (Pro/E and

Pro/Mech. were used iterate and optimize the design.) Prototype was tested on automated testing

machines

Designed and performed series of fatigue testing and analysis on Gama, and Beta titanium alloys under

elevated temperatures, gases, and vacuum for turbine’s components.

Extensive use of various dynamic software, i.e. Pro/E and Pro/M, Working Model, KTSolver, to

investigate the gross motion of more than fifty patents

Developed a symbolic code based on Lagrangian methodology for dynamic analysis of complex

mechanical systems.

Developed and participated in about twenty improvement projects, i.e. reposition a fresh and sea water

exchanger to lower level, improve the design of fresh water and oil exchanger to improve the system

pressure level, run all required changes to use left oil pump instead of a right one, etc.

Planned and scheduled work activities between safety, pipeline, rigs, transportation, turbine, diesel, heat

exchanger, and supplies departments.

backgrounds.
