Project Title : BI/BO Implementation

Client Name :EBSCO Industries, Inc.

Duration :Mar’ 2012 till July 2013

Description:

EBSCO is medium sized very diversifies business. The main business is related to printing and publishing or

traditional and electronic media but the business span through construction equipment and carpet industries to

import and export or various manufacturing equipment. A lot of the business units were acquired over period of

time and hence run on very customized heterogeneous environment. Management decided to implement SAP

and SAP BI to consolidate the business into a central environment. The BI7.2 implementation required a lot of

custom extracts due to over 30 business units with custom data feeds to ECC. Some of the library and publishing

functions as well as publisher clearing business is not ECC based and data was extracted directly from various

tables and systems.

Project involved about implementation and enhancements to the business contents as well as custom extractions

and storage objects. Data was fetched in from ECC, legacy systems database tables and custom data sources

such as flat files and XML. Data from various company codes was transformed and loaded in consolidated DSOs

and InfoCubes. BEx reports were created and tested for accuracy. BusinessObjects (Webi & Crystal) was the

choice of final reporting tool.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Involved in design and development of objects like InfoCubes, DSOs, DTPs, Transformation &

Multiproviders.

Exposure to large and complex data loads with Process Chains running on daily and weekly basis in BI

7.0 system.

Worked with SAP R/3 Logistics (LO) in loading Sales and Distribution data into BI Involved in Initializing

the LO Data source by Activating the Business Content Data Sources, Maintaining the Extract Structure,

DuPont is an American chemical company that was founded in July 1802. DuPont was the world's third largest

chemical company based on market capitalization and ninth based on revenue in 2012. It develops many

polymers, synthetic pigments and paints etc.

The BW 3.5 implementation required a lot of custom extracts due to over 30 business units with custom data

feeds to 6 SAP R/3 source systems.
