Detailed Skills Summary
1) Branding
Over the years in energy I have been involved with branding and marketing my energy products in
existing territories as well as new territories. My key to brand marketing has been in many areas. Among
my accomplishments is producing a commercial with Cablevision which advertised my company and its
competitive energy rates. This was comprised of 2400 spots over a two month period. These spots were
shown on TNT, CNBC, ESPN, and various national channels as well as network television at prime time.
When these shows went to commercial my spots were broadcasted locally in the tri state area.
In 2011 a minor league stadium was constructed in Pomona, New York in the Town Of Ramapo at a cost
of 70 million dollars which seats 9,000 people. I was the first company to see the possibility for branding
and proceeded to advertise by way of signage and give away promotions items with my company logo. I
saw the opportunity and had my advertisement placed underneath the electronic scoreboard which people
view throughout the game. This foresight gave me the opportunity to brand my company and resulted in
an energy contract with the stadium as well as with the Town of Ramapo which is the largest town in that
utility area.
I am also affiliated with several organizations, charities, and chambers where I take an active part in order
to get to be in front of many commercial and industrial clients as well as different municipalities in the
area. I support and display at all of their expos and partake in all activities and network functions as well
as speaking and presenting details of how they can adjust their energy spending to benefit the bottom line
of their corporations. The result has a strong following in the commercial and industrial sectors.
2) Share and Care Affinity Programs
With today?s Federal cutbacks many non profits are looking to add additional revenue to their bottom line.
I had established this for many of my companies to help them do just that while increasing my bottom
line. This program consisted of signing up their facilities and offering all their members competitive rates
on their homes and businesses and paying the non profit a monthly residual. This not only resulted in
thousands of residential accounts but in addition many commercial and industrial accounts from board
members and the like.
3) Agent Channels
I have established various independent agent channels. I look for relevant businesses that coincide with
my energy business. One of these businesses is a group of over 100 electricians that once their
responsibilities are completed, they solicit their customers and refer them to me for their energy needs.
They receive monthly residuals which encourages them to promote my energy products.
4) Municipalities
Through my extensive networking I have established a working relationship with most of the different
municipalities in the tri state area. These relationships have been beneficial in attaining energy contracts
for their various facilities as well as establishing my reputation within the community. My relationships
range from elected officials, town purchasing agents, to Chief County Executives. I am approved for
bidding on all energy related contracts.
5) Commercial and Industrial Clients
I personally have built up a substantial book of businesses in the northeast of commercial and industrial
clients many of which have been with me since 2004. I initially started out cold calling and through my
different associations and aggressiveness have increased my sales annually. I have set up informative
energy forums for company employees to make them aware of their energy choices. In addition, I have
worked with all of their engineers and facility managers on such energy saving products such as smart
thermostats and retro fittings in conjunction with NYSERDA and make them aware of possible energy
rebates they would be eligible for.
6) Utility Bill Auditing
With all the competition in the energy marketplace it is difficult to separate yourself from the competition.
I have found that utility bill auditing has been a way to rise above. Most businesses or organizations are
not prepared to internally perform their own audit which can retrieve overpayments from the utilities. By
promoting a free audit, companies view this as a win win situation and can recover substantial refunds
from the utility that they could not do on their own. This establishes a trust between the two parties and
could lead to the signing of an energy contract at the back end. I have been successful at this and know it
will result in business.
7) Summary
I have been in energy sales, management, and marketing for eleven years and, as I said previously, have
built a substantial book of business from nothing. This was done with hard work, working smart, and
thinking outside of the box. I have been able to deal with all energy market situations and changes and
feel I can be successful in any environment.
