Responsible for managing a caseload of 20 to 25 primarily mandated clients which includes psychosocials,

treatment planning, discharge planning as well as case managing. Maintain on-going dialogue with parole

officers, in order to adhere NYS division of parole’s stipulations. Make appropriate referrals to different

treatment modalities like in-patient rehab, detox and methadone maintenance in order to fill client needs. I

facilitate various groups identifying the needs of our population.

I was actively involved with the implementation of a 16 bed Community Residence targeting at risk youth

with unstable housing. Assisted the Director in maintaining compliance with OASAS licensing as well as

trained and supervised a team including night-guards in maintaining up to date documentation. Facilitated

family groups, conducted weekly seminars. I conducted weekly gender specific groups focusing on men’s

issues. I assisted the outpatient program’s director during outpatient hours and was part of a group that

lobbied congress yearly for additional funding for the program.

Provided individual counseling and needs assessment for mildly to moderately developmentally disabled

populations. I designed and ran a group focusing on Spirituality and Recovery. I facilitated Smoking

Cessation groups utilizing object-relation therapy and participated in weekly interdisciplinary case

conferences.

Substances Abuse Counselor - (1999 to 2000)

I educated St. Christopher's Bronx Family Central's Foster Care on substance & alcohol abuse, prevention

and community resources. I assisted with continued services and re-unification of children with their

families according to Family Court mandate. Contributed in the implementation of an Assessment

Stabilization Unit, where individuals were medically detoxified and clinically motivated to continue treatment

after discharge. Responsible for managing a case load of 55 clients in the MTA component.

Responsibilities included; monitoring individualized methadone dosage in accordance with treatment plans.

Outreach Coordinator - (1998 to 1999)

Yonkers General Hospital, Yonkers, NY

Created and oversaw the implementation of various satellite units affiliated with Yonkers General Hospital.

In a community based SRO I implemented a Relapse Prevention group addressing triggers and ongoing life

issues as well as individual therapy. In a Bronx situated hospice I implemented groups focusing on

bereavement, health and family issues also HIV education and prevention.

In St. Christopher's Bronx Family Central I assisted in re-uniting children with parents affected by

substances under ACS mandate. Provided life transition groups as well as advocated for clients in Family

Court. In Sharing Community Crises Center I engaged individuals and made appropriate referrals to

Yonkers General Hospital's detox unit.

Senior Counselor - (1996 to 1998)

I worked with the OCJS program, scheduled intakes, assessed referrals from the justice system’s mandated

clients as a condition of their probation. Managed a caseload of 25-30 clients, responsibilities included
