September 2007-2010 Substitute Teacher: Big Spring School District

Responsible for following lesson plans as laid out by teachers, managing the classroom,

administering discipline as needed and following certain procedures as outlined in the teacher’s

handbook.

Summer 2007-2010 Assistant Teacher: Childtime SAC

Worked for a summer camp in Carlisle, Pennsylvania as part of the Childtime SAC staff.

Responsible for the care and safety of k-5 aged students during summer camp. Program is part of

the STARS system, which encourages positive reinforcement and to stimulate each child’s mind

through a structured and fun filled program.

April 2007-June 2007 Long Term Substitute: Washington County Public Schools

Substituted at Maugansville Elementary School in Washington County, Maryland for k-5 general

music, and 4th & 5th grade instrumental music. While there, I was responsible for writing lesson

plans and continuing with the curriculum established by the school district. I was also responsible

for planning and directing a concert featuring the 4th & 5th grade instrumental students.

2005-2006 Symphonic Band and Orchestra Manager: Elizabethtown College

Responsible for setting up for all rehearsals and concerts, maintaining accurate attendance records,

maintaining accurate inventory of all instruments, making sure instruments are in proper working

order and taking care of instrumental problems during rehearsal.

Responsible for organizing band and orchestra folders at the beginning of each semester and

making sure the proper parts are in each folder, maintaining an accurate music library database,

organizing music in the music library and distributing extra parts during rehearsals as needed.
