When off-shore companies were competing at much lower pricing for our products, developed a plan to
reduce costs by consolidating our 3 separate manufacturing facilities into one. Working closely with
the State of New Jersey and the city of Trenton, secured low interest long term financing purchasing a
building and hiring new employee using city tax incentives.
Selected Achievements
• Negotiated a combination of over $500,000 in of grants and loans to subsidize consolidation of 3 facilities
into a single unit.
• Improved cash flow by reducing the average receivable days from 90 to 30 days. Built strong
relationships with payable managers to secure their cooperation for earlier payment. This improved cash-
flow difficulties for the company.
• Conceived and negotiated an arrangement with the local union representative that eliminated possible
labor actions and built a stronger and more cooperative relationship with the Bargaining Unit.
• Created a light duty / return to work program that returned 99% of our workers on Workers Compensation
to the job within 48 hours of an injury. Workers Compensation insurance costs reduced from $175,000 to
$65,000 over a three year period.
• Created and implemented strict time and attendance policies that reduced absenteeism by 90% and
saved over $60,000, increased productivity and on-time deliveries, reduced defects.
• Assisted in the design of a software program that integrated order entry, inventory, billing, purchasing,
scheduling, A/R and A/P, and bills of material. This increased efficiency, improved raw material flow and
facilitated business growth.
• Reduced the size of the production schedule, improved process time from 12 weeks to 4 weeks.
