Work History
1990 to present: Owner of PAGODA Computer Supplies, Inc., Buffalo Grove,
IL. The company operates in three primary areas; purchase and sales of
laser printer, fax, and copier toner cartridges; service and repair of
laser printers; sales of new (OEM) and generic laser printer cartridges.
Managed Print Services incorporates all of these into one package. Our
customers include SOHO (Small Office Home Office), government agencies, not-
for-profits, universities, accountants, attorneys, and an array of small
and medium businesses.
As owner of a 20 year business, I have grown the business through
relationships with hundreds of people at my customers' places of business.
These contacts include everyone from the corporate level to the entry
level.
Industry Activity
July, 2011 - I was a panelist discussing Managed Print Services at the
Managed Print Summit sponsored by The Imaging Channel in Las Vegas. This
was an all day meeting of imaging businesses and included the presidents of
Toshiba and Sharp.
Since 2006, Great Lakes Chapter Chair for the International Imaging
Technology Council (I-ITC), the trade organization for the printer imaging
industry. The Chapter Chair is a defacto member of the Board of Directors
of the I-ITC. As Chapter Chair, I am responsible for an annual meeting
attended by vendors and members.
1983-1990 Computer Printer Industry
1988-1989: Ricoh Corporation, Regional Manager. I was in charge of
offices in Chicago and Dallas covering thirteen states, two District
Managers, and two staff in Chicago. Our products were Ricoh branded laser
printers. I was with the division for its entire existence. The daily
duties included sales presentations with my sales and support personnel,
working within the regional budget, strategic planning, training and
direction of the office personnel.
1983-1987: Brother International Corporation
1985-1987: Regional Manager, Chicago, IL I was promoted to this position
and built a new region from scratch covering eight Midwestern states. I
led a team of three salesmen, and two office support personnel selling to
computer stores, university book stores, and other retail outlets that
resold our daisy wheel and dot matrix printers and the accompanying
peripherals and supplies. The duties included managing and creating
regional budgets, hiring and training the sales force, running meetings,
and directing the office staff.
1983-1985: District Manager, Washington, DC to Philadelphia, PA The
duties were to manage retail accounts, which included ComputerLand and
Entre Computer and independent outlets. This entailed travel throughout
the district to sell to and train the store personnel the then "state of
the art" daisy wheel and dot matrix printers, accessories and supplies.
As the leading salesman, I was promoted to the above position.
Previous Experience: Consumer Electronics
Seven years in the consumer electronics industry with Sony (6) and JVC (1).
The territories were in the Mid-Atlantic area from Eastern Pennsylvania
through Virginia. Was involved in the introduction of Betamax, Walkman,
and Compact Disc while with Sony.
