OBJECTIVE:
To obtain a challenging position in Electrical Engineering, which will
provide an opportunity for career growth and will utilize my technical
abilities and over thirty years of diversified experience in power system
detail design while providing an environment for achievement.
CITIZENSHIP: US CITIZEN
EDUCATION: BACHELOR IN ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING
WORK EXPERIENCE:
I am working (as needed basis) for Envar Engineering services, New Jersey,
as a Contract senior electrical Engineer. Duties included to review the
design of seven medium and low voltage substations including large booster
pumps, variable frequency drives and hazardous area classification drawing
for 36" crude pipe line to be installed from Wisconsin to Alberta Canada.
SABIC Engineering 1997- Jan.
2012
Senior Project Engineer
I worked as a Senior Project Engineer for SABIC Engineering and Project
Management in Jubail Saudi Arabia. Initial assignment was to develop
Corporate Electrical Engineering Specification and standards based on NEC,
API, NFPA and European Electrical standards IEC to be utilized for oil and
Gas, Petrochemical Plants, Refineries, Grass root, Expansion and
debottlenecking projects. With the diversified experience of basic and
detail Engineering design and in depth knowledge of selection major
electrical equipments and utilizing the references of relevant industry
standards for substations and high and low voltage power distribution
system. The developed standards are widely in use for all SABIC Mega
projects and have been accepted by the EPC and E & C Contractors as well as
Electrical equipment manufacturers around the Globe.
For Grass root and expansion power projects I prepared the invitation to
bid (ITB) documents that included the scope of work, including a list of
long and short term of deliverable for Basic and Detail design. These
invitation bids are forwarded to potential EPC or LSTK Contractors to
submit the bid in the light of ITB requirement. After receiving the
Commercial and Technical bids it is my responsibility to technically
evaluate the bidders and recommend the most suitable bidder who meets the
ITB Requirements.
Furthermore, my duties were to visit the Contractor offices in Europe,
North America and Asia where Basic or detail design is being carried out to
audit and check the compliance of design and studies are in accordance to
the contractual agreement between The Company and Contractor. Also,
attended FAT for major electrical equipment such as Switchgears,
Compressors, Transformers, UPS, SCADA system at manufacturer's facility in
Europe, Korea, Japan and Singapore to ensure that equipment are
manufactured in compliance to specifications.
I was mobilized to South Korea in 2006 for one year to carry out the detail
design of Polypropylene Plant and U/O at Samsung Office. The detail design
was successfully completed based on ETAP studies of load flow, short
circuit analysis, power factor improvement and relay coordination. The
Construction of three substations providing 75MVA with the voltage levels
of 230KV to 34.5.KV, 4.16 and 480V different voltage levels was completed
without any change order. Detail design, commissioning and start up work
were done under my supervision.
SHELL (SADAF) Houston, TX 1992-1997
Electrical Controls Engineer
I was hired by SHELL Houston Texas as an Electrical Control system Engineer
to work at their Mega Petro-chemical Plant in Saudi Arabia for the
expansion of Caustic/Ethylene Di-chloride project. This required addition
of high capacity transformers/rectifiers and new 230/13.8KV substation to
provide DC power supply to cell lines. The electrical system of Caustic is
quite different and requires special design meeting the area classification
requirements. Furthermore, my duties were to look after the run and
maintain the entire plant electrical systems ranged from 230KV to 480V and
40MV gas fired turbine generators.
Fluor Houston, TX 1990-
1991
Lead Design Engineer
I had worked for Fluor, Houston Texas as lead design Engineer. Duties
included to design new substations, preparing the Electrical equipment
specifications, SLD, hazardous area classification drawings, studies on
short circuit, load flow, motor starting on ARAMCO East/West Pipeline and
South Texas refinery expansion projects. Complete responsibility of the
project design to meet the client requirements.
Galaxy Chemical Company Houston, TX 1978-
1990
Control Systems Engineer
I had worked for Galaxy Chemical Company Houston-Texas as Control system
Engineer. Duties included the run and maintain of entire plant electrical
system, plant change, electrical safety audit, modification and upgrade of
existing utility system. Also, worked as a project engineer for all
expansion projects and awarded the contracts to the contractors for
commissioning the new equipment in the substations. Other duties were
involved in energy management presentation, lectures on electrical safety
and provided training to technical staff on project management.
North American Gas Turbines Houston, TX 1973-
1978
Junior Electrical Engineer
I had worked as junior electrical engineer for North American Gas Turbines
Houston Texas. Duties included to design Turbine Generator skid mounted
packages with the rated voltage of 4.16 kV and 480V with various KVA
rating. I was fully responsible to design the generator control cabinet and
electrical controls to meet the customer demand.
STRENGTHS:
Extensive knowledge in North America and European electrical code and
standards, selection of high medium and low voltage electrical equipment
for major power plants and distribution systems to be in compliance to area
classification requirements. I have completed more than twenty projects
that include all aspect of project engineering and can work as an advisor
to cover the entire project electrical power and distribution system by
using the most advanced tools to maintain the safe and reliable operation
for any given project.
