This is a 300 beds general private hospital and 6 operating rooms, with a busy ER department including

most surgical emergencies and RTA. One of the main hospitals recognized by JCIA and Saudi Aramco

Company for dealing with their patients. I am working in the capacity mentioned above, attending daily

OPD clinic, every third day second on call, daily inpatient rounds, weekly departmental meetings and

grand round, weekly CME participation, Sharing assigned committee meetings, 3rd and 4th year

medical student from king Fahad University Medical School round teaching, patients admission and

preoperative preparation, two operative sessions weekly apart of emergencies, postoperative care and

follow up of the patients in wards, ICU and OPD, Monthly Surgical Club for Eastern Province

meetings.

Procedures performed are; thyroidectomies total and subtotal, lobectomy with or without neck

dissection for bengin and malignant diseases, parotidectomy, submandibular sialadectomy, tongue tie

release, thyroglossal cyst and branchial cyst excision, repair of tongue injuries, tongue biopsies,

excision of labial benign swellings, lymph node biopsy, subareolar excision of male gynaecomastia,

excision of female breast benign masses, lumpectomy, quadrantectomy and modified radical

mastectomy with axillary evacuation, sentinel node biopsy using MB, stereotactic wire localization for

non palpable breast mass excision, total mastectomy, subareolar duct excision, microdochectomy,

abdominal ventral hernias, inguinal and umbilical hernias (herniorraphy and hernioplasty) primary

recurrent and incisional, abdominal lipectomy, radical gastrectomy for ca., different colectomies for

benign and malignant cases, distal and proximal pancreatectomy, splenectomy +/- vasoligation,

cholectystectomy +/- IOC +/- CBD exploration, transdoudenal sphincterotomy,

choledochojejunostomy, abdominal exploration for peritonitis, acute pancreatitis, perforated peptic

ulcer, adhesive intestinal obstruction, volvulus and malignancy, all types of appendectomies, perforated

TB, anterior resection and abdominoperineal resection, repair of rectal injuries, high and low anal

fistula management, different types of haemrroidectomies (conventional, stapled, IRC, rubber band,

injection sclerotherapy), fissurectomy and perianal suppuration management, varicose veins

operations, inguinal lymph node biopsy plus minor surgeries.

As regard Laparoscopic Surgery, I’m performing lap. Cholecystectomy (three ports), IOC,

appendectomy (two ports) in simple, perforated, complicated and paeditric cases and in pregnancy,

lap. Hernial repair, inguinal (TAPP, TEP), Lap.Paediatric hernia, ventral and incisional hernias, lap.

Hiatus hernia (nissen’s fundoplication) and lap. Diaphragmatic hernia, Lap. Adhesiolysis and exp. for

trauma and tumors staging and biopsy, lap. Management of perforated duodenal ulcer and lap.

Varicocelectomy, laparoscopic colectomy for benign and malignant lesions, laparoscopic

abdominoperineal resection,Laparoscopic sigmoidectomy,lap.release of intussusception,Lap.transverse

colectomy for duplications, lap. renal and liver biopsies and laparoscopic salpingo-oopherectomy for

huge ovarian cyst, lap. Gastrostomy,lap.feeding jejunostomy, Bariatric Lap. surgeries, Lap. Gastric

banding (Pars Flaccida, Retrogastric technique) Lap. Gastric bypass and Lap. Sleeve gastrectomy.

This is beside major trauma surgery( e.g. Ruptured spleen, post traumatic perforated bowel, teared

mesentery, lacerated liver, diaphragmatic injury, rectal and gastric perforations and assisting in major

vascular injuries ) and different types of amputations. Also I performed diagnostic upper and lower GIT

diagnostic endoscopies and some invasive procedures and Gastric balloon insertion for weight

control.Recently, I started SILS cases in Lap. Cholecystectomy, Lap. Hernioplasty and Lap.

Appendicectomy.

During this period I was working as locum at several hospitals as I have to travel to USA

frequently, to settle my family there.

This is 400 bed and 8 operating rooms military referral hospital in Eastern province, KSA, I performed

the same spectrum of operations mentioned before at a lesser number. I shared also in the departmental

meetings, grand rounds and CME beside training surgical residents, twice weekly OPD and OR

sessions.

King Fahad General Hsopital (MOH), BAHA, KSA

This is 450 bed and 6 operating rooms MOH referral hospital, with a very busy ER department due to

the nearby southern main highway. Daily departmental meetings, twice weekly OPD and OR sessions.

cases operated are of minor, moderate variety e.g. different hernia, cholecystectomies, anal surgery,

Hai Elgamaa General Hospital, Jeddah, KSA

This is 150 bed and 4 operating rooms private hospital located at Hai

Algamaa public crowded quarter, although most cases are minor and moderate varieties, I managed

there a case of portal vein thrombosis with massive bowel ischaemia.

Al Nakheel Medical Center, Jeddah, KSA

This Day case center located in the middle of commercial area of Jeddah where I operated on cases

admitted through Alfaisal Medical Center.

Elfaisal Medical Center, Jeddah, KSA

This polyclinic located in down town Jeddah where I did OPD, preoperative investigations,

postoperative follow up and minor day cases. Through this I was operating on my patients in following

named hospitals: Bakhish General Hospital, Hai Elgamaa Hospital, Dar Elshifa Hospital and Al

Nakheel Medical Center.

In these hospitals I performed most of General, Laparoscopic and oncological operations beside most

of major trauma cases and emergency surgery.

1998 to 2001: Consultant General and Laparoscopic Surgeon.

GNP General Hospital, Jeddah, K.S.A.

This is a 100 bed and 4 operating rooms private high class hospital known with caring of patients of

western nationalities and high class saudi.

Beside the routine general surgery and casuality work, I performed biliary, colorectal and breast(both

general surgical and oncological cases). Regarding laparoscopy, Lap. Cholecystectomy and IOC, Lap.

appendicectomy, Lap. inguinal,and hiatus surgeries were most frequently practiced laparoscopic

operations.

I was also performing upper and lower G.I.T. endoscopies mainly diagnostic beside some invasive

techniques like, biopsies, polypectomies, managing bleeding ulcers.

I have a good experience in management of diabetic foot infections and its sequelae. I also performed

all basic paediatric e.g. herniotomy,bowel obstruction, undescended testis, pyloromyotomy,

intussuception and umbilical hernia, also basic plastic surgeries.

Lap. Inguinal hernia repair and Lap. Fundoplication. Also reasonable number of other laparoscopic

procedures as Lap. Truncal Vagotomy, Lap. Seromyotomy, Lap. Gastric Banding (Perigastric

Technique), Lap. Varicocelectomy, Lap. Exp. for vague abdominal pain, Lap. Ca. Staging, Lap.

Perforated ulcer closure, Lap. Adhesiolysis and Lap. Assisted Orchidopexy.

On 1996, I attended a training peroid in MOET Institute (San Francisco, CA, USA) on laparoscopic

intracorporal suturing, knotting and anastomosis. Also on 1996, I got the basic and advanced courses in

Osteosynthesis by SORG (Zurich, Switzerland).

Also, on 1998, I spent 3 months in Borgess Medical Center (Kalamazoo, MI, USA), where I have been

trained on advanced laparoscopic procedures including biliary, inguinal hernia repair and hiatus

surgery.

as general manager of Al Badrawi Hospital in the period 1984-1985.
