Freelance Japanese Language Interpreter

CURRENT: Looking for Japanese language interpretation and translation

assignments.

PAST ORGANISATIONAL EXPERIENCE:

Till June 2014: Provided interpretational support for market research,

social projects and tours on a freelance basis. Companies include like

Jatoch, Ricoh, Kao, Unicharm, Panasonic, Omron, Samsung.

August 2008: Worked with Honda Siel, Bhiwadi for a month long

interpretation assignment.

1995 - 2008: Worked with a Japanese NGO, Reiyukai as Assistant Manager &

independently at Managerial level from 1995 where my work responsibilities

entailed the following:

. Managing day to day office administration

. Interpretation and Translation work form Japanese to English,

Hindi and Nepali and vice-versa.

. Providing logistic support to Japanese delegates in India.

. Taught Japanese Language in the centre as part of a social

programme.

. Liaising between the offices in Kathmandu, India and Japan.

. Co-ordinating of meetings and official programs in India

. Conceptualizing and organizing of events for the members such as

speech contests, drawing and painting competitions, innerself

development programs and community development projects.

STRENGTHS:

. Passionate, dedicated, sincere and hardworking with excellent

communication skills in Japanese language. Also fluent in English, Hindi

and Nepali

. Possesses good event management skills and has organized seminars and

promoted art exhibitions for well-known artists in Delhi.

. Excellent writing skills with a journalistic background that includes

working earlier experience with Delhi Mid Day, Hindustan Times as sub

editor.

EDUCATION:

. 2-year under graduate course in Japanese Language from YMCA, Osaka,

Japan -1993-1995

. Cleared the level 1 Japanese Language Proficiency Test from Osaka,

Japan and can speak the language fluently.

. Graduate in Economic Honours from St Josephs College, Darjeeling, West

Bengal.
