At present working as Assistant Manager at Rajpura Dariba Mines of M/s Hindustan Zinc Ltd., India a

Sister concern of VEDANTA GROUP COMPANIES having operations in India, Zambia, Tasmania,

and South Africa. Rajpura Dariba Mine, a big & well mechanized underground Pb-Zn Mine presently

producing about 0.7 million MT of ore. Presently mine is working by two shafts; but soon the mine will

be fully mechanized and equipped with a decline. Australian Mining Consultancy is a partner to design

the mine with all world class standards.

Achievements:-

• Represented Hindustan Zinc at IIT BHU, Varanasi at Application of Numerical Modelling in

Strata Control” Training Workshop.

• Presented paper on HEMM – Present & Future Trend at Papyrus a national level event in Surang

2005 at Anna University, Chennai.

Deliverables:

Operational Preview: (VRM & Blast Hole Stoping) From Sept. 2007 to Oct. 2011

• Looking after large diameter, drilling & blasting with non-electric initiation system using raydets,

these are environment friendly technique for VRM & Blast Hole Stoping.

• Implementing the concepts of the latest blasting practices in mines & the ground vibration

Measurement Technique.

• Plan, Schedule & Co-ordinate all daily activity including review and planning of projects prior to

start of each day.

• Carrying out detailed Mining block studies.

• Utilization of mining machinery.

• Calculation of different financial indicators like cost per unit production for different machineries

deployed at mine.

• Monitoring the progress of work with the approved programme.

• Responsible for waste excavation & ore production.

Rock Mechanics Preview: From Oct. 2011 to Aug. 2012

• Detail geotechnical mapping of all developing area of mine with geologist for conforming and

determination of RMR/Q and ground condition with respect to major support initiative.

• Planning and installing of Rock Mechanics instruments for analysis the displacement and change

in stress according to stoping area and their regular monitoring.

• Empirical approach to design the support and stoping geometry with the determination of

hydraulic radius & stability number with the help of Q index.

• Numerical modelling by using FLAC and Phase software for designing Crown Pillar thickness,

stope geometry with analysis of induced stresses & displacement and designing of effective and

optimum support.

• Working with consultants and technical experts on projects related to various aspects of mining,

new methods and technology implementation, ground control problems, etc.

• Determination of the physical and geo mechanical property of the rock in rock mechanics lab.

• Fill quality monitoring for mine to ensure effective filling and giving feedback for any

abnormalities findings.

Mine Planning Preview: From Aug. 2012 to Present

• Team leader in “Recovery of S-4 Collapsed stope (geologically disturbed stope) by detailed planning

and successfully carrying out its operation” under T-400 Projects, contributing 25,000 MT of ore for

FY 2010-2011.

• Team leader in commissioning of new block of ore reserve between 236mrl and 254mrl for FY-

2009-10.

• Team leader in Commissioning of new block of ore reserve between 254mrl to 269mrl for FY-2012-

13.

• Modifying in designing of the secondary stope by single entry, re modifying in drill design, thereby

increase in ore recovery. This was successfully achieved in S-2 stope in bet 212mRL to 236mRL

and afterward it was set as trend in all the secondary stope.

• To increase the productivity of Single Boom Jumbo.

• To increase the productivity of Low Profile Dump Trucks [LPDT].
