• Do discharged and transfer out of patients, a rrange for hospital transportation i f required.

• Checks v i t a l s igns of the patients at regular i nterval, m ore frequently for a l l i l l cases.

• N otified t he f ollowing t o the doctor immediately any abnormalities and changes i n the

p atient's c ondition. R esult of investigation.

• Do nursing rounds visits by consultants, note down patients conditions, complaints, progress,

changes o r problem i n any. So as to provide a ccurate r eport/feed back to consultants round,

be p repare t o answer question regarding patients conditions and management.

• M akes changes t o treatment promptly, as ordered by doctor.

• C arries out treatment as per order correctly and safety.

• Serve medication e nsure p atients take them.

• G ive i njection as prescribed.

• M aintain I /V i nfusion as per regime.

• Keeps all records / charts i n order and up to date.

• A ssists i n special procedures.

o E.g.: T & S, I & D, insertion of c hest t ube, lumbar puncture etc.,

• Laise w i t h o ther departments w i t h r egards to patients m anagements

o E.g.: D ietician, p harmacist, health educator, medical social works other consultants and

p hysiotherapists.

• P repare a nd send patients to other departments for treatment and investigations.

o E.g.: to O.T endoscopies u nit / i maging department, arrange to fetch them back when ready.

• W rite a ccurate nursing reports on a l l patients.

• Supervises new staff, subordinate officers ( AN/HA, A ttendants) and student n urses i n the

p erformance of their duties, provided guidance and correction as and when needed.
