Leading SPIE Oil&Gas technical support team (Lead I&C Engineer, Lead

Electrical Engineer and 12 Instrument technicians) contracted by Shams-1

power plant to support owners commissioning team. Responsible for all

aspects of electrical, I & C commissioning works. Commissioning includes

Solar Steam Generator (SSG-Foster Wheeler), 7 Heat Transfer Fluid Heaters

the Shoaibah Phase 2 - LOT 2 - Water Transmission system Project -

desalination plant. System included 13 AC450 controllers, 61 AC70

controllers, 18 AS500 OS (UNIX) operator stations, 3 IMS (UNIX) stations

and one AS500 ES.

The scope of supply was new Data Acquisition and Control (DAC) system

relevant to the water pipelines Shoaibah-Jeddah and Shoaibah-Makkah-Taif.

Shoaibah-Jeddah was a new pipeline, while Shoaibah-Makkah-Taif was an

existing pipeline the capacity of which shall be increased by the addition

of new pumping units and other station devices.

It was foreseen to provide a complete new Data Acquisition and Control

(DAC) system for use with Jeddah pumping system and to replace the existing

systems (BBC) in use for the Makkah-Taif pumping system, including design,

manufacture, configuration, programming, factory testing, delivery to site,

installation supervision, site testing, commissioning and provision of

record drawings, documentation and maintenance manuals.

Joined project as project specialist. Duties included system integration,

AC450/AC70 application development, multiple MVI-RCOM redundant

configurations, multiple MVI-MODBUS configuration and LCD panel application

design, MB300E extension through LanBridges, MB300E extension in multi drop

configuration trough LAN Routers over telecom system, AF100 redundant

configuration, AS500 Operation Station software installation and

configuration, Display design. Mimic panel application design. Partial

documentation creation (FDS - Function Design Specification, DDS - Detailed
