September 2014
Dear Sir/Madam,
As an experienced systems engineer and engineering manager with a record of achievement in many
aspects of the product development cycle, I am pursuing an opportunity as a system engineer. I present
a diverse background in system engineering and management with experience in hardware engineering,
system engineering, system test, configuration management, risk management, project management
and task order proposal development. I have a demonstrated ability to positively impact organizational
performance as an engineer and as a manager.
While managing an engineering team, we were able to advance from a CMMI Level 1 to a Level
3 organization and maintain that level for several years. This team was able to develop,
integrate and maintain multiple IT systems for conducting satellite command and control while
supporting several different satellite programs.
Successfully managed an engineering group that was responsible for the performance and
management of between 30 and 50 projects per year.
Established an independent test group to answer to a customer request for more formal testing
of space ground systems and spacecrafts prior to launch. The customer was extremely satisfied
with the new insight they were able to obtain from the detailed procedures and documentation
they had never had before.
Worked to establish Early Systems Engineering processes for the Air Force Nuclear Weapons
Center in support of the Defense Acquisition Process requirements.
I am confident that I can quickly demonstrate my knowledge in System Engineering during an interview
with you. I believe I can demonstrate that I would make a positive addition to your company. Please
contact me at your convenience. I can be reached any day after 1200PM, Mountain at 505-***-****.
P.S. Thank you ahead of time for considering what I have to offer. I look forward to hearing
from you in the near future.
Sincerely,
Howard Darrell Taylor
