Manufacturing Engineering Manager (Mid 2009 to 2013)
Offered technical leadership for manufacturing activities related to multiple commercial and government programs in
the creation of RF Communication hardware (EPCs and TWTs). Directed daily operations of 11 Engineers and five
Manufacturing Planners. Developed budgets and managed capital equipment procurement. Established manufacturing
short and long-term goals and allocated necessary resources to achieve priotized objectives.
? Created an intranet page to define NRE requirements/responsibilties for entire organization to see with due dates for
Drawings, BOM?s, Tooling, Assembly Instructions and Manufacturing Planning. On-time documentation increased
90+ percent.
? Reorganized Manufacturing Planning and changed router documents resulting in significant reduction in time to
create/approve documents. Time went from 3-5 weeks to 15 minutes/1 day.
? Redesigned assembly instructions format from 8 x 11 to 11 x 17 making CAD images >80% of page layout to
improve assembly instructions. Old design used 10% CAD images and 90% verbiage.
? Implemented cross-training of engineers assigning "Experts and Trainees" for given areas. Certified Experts and
Trainees via QA approved tests. Cross trained engineers resulted in much improved assembly instructions, tooling
and product quality.
? Via AutoCAD, changed production work area layout increasing production rate from 10 units per week to 24 units
per week. Received award from President for early delivery of new production work area. Project was delivered
under budget with positive customer comments. This area became a company show case.

ENOVATIONS (T. K. GRAY Inc.) Roseville, MN 06/1992 to 03/2004
Technical Specialist/New Product Introduction/Account Executive
Based on our customer?s request we created my Technical Specialist position and gained sales by providing
local manufacturing engineering support to the PWB and PWBA industried. As a troubleshooter for
customers I addressed problems with materials & equipment to improve process yield, reduce production
costs, and improve throughput. Helped many customer?s with PWB designs. Procured and installed the
latest OEM technologies (equipment and processes) for horizontal high-volume fabrication of ultra high-
tech PWB?s & CCA?s. Basically was involved as an engineer in CAM of PWB?s/CCA?s, design of
manufacturability, process improvement, SOP?s & ECO?s, testing and final inspection of products. Worked
to ensure ISO compliance for customers and suppliers.
I represented companies selling capital equipment and commodity products: 20+ suppliers to 70+ high-tech
customers. Well-known companies like OEM lamination, Dupont, Taiyo, Chemcut, Isola, Matsushita,
Camtek, C.A. Picard, Shipley, ORC, multiple lamination and chemical suppliers. Designed and negotiated
contracts combining capital equipment and commodity products in packaged deals. Assumed a Project
Manager role introducing new products, which meant attending trade shows and giving presentations to
corporate managers/engineers?while still functioning as an Account Executive and Technical Specialist.
Overall, I verified supplier roadmaps were in-line with our capabilities. Gained experience in lean
manufacturing, 6-Sigma & DOE methods.

?Navy Shipboard Motherboard? with 22000 holes with press fit pins (weighed over 75 lbs before pin
insertion) and various boards for space system computers (class 3+). Corporate SQC facilitator over
multiple years?implemented statistical control plans and trained employees to control the manufacturing
process. Worked in both high volume commercial and low volume-high mix military PWB fabrication.
Worked as the POC for Naval, Air Force and Army projects. Procured multiple suppliers for commodities
