- Supported the FAA Common Automated Radar Terminal System (Common ARTS) IIIE /IIE hardware development and field
support group.

onsite personnel. As a result, the customer used this evaluation in the purchase of 350 Gateway PCs for ARTS IIE SMCPC site
installations.
- Coordinated site equipment delivery, installation check out and acceptance, and initial Operating Capability (IOC) cut over with
facility personnel. Performed the periodic 1st and 2nd level maintenance of LAN-broadcast point to point, diagnostic and disk
utilities tests on Common ARTS IIIE automated system using the NAS requirement FAA Order 6190.9 as guidelines.
- Conducted operational performance and evaluation of three manufacturer’s personal computers (Gateway E3400, Dell
Precision 330/340 and Compaq).

evaluation of the Voice Switching and Control System (VSCS) Control Subsystem Tandem replacement (VCSU).
- Participated in the Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) of the VCSU at Harris Corporation in Melbourne, Florida. Responsible
for testing all failure modules relating to failure recovery operations. Conducted all required pre-bench maintenance dry runs
for the VSCS Tandem Replacement project.
- Tested each hardware modification to ensure its stability and that there was no degradation or operational impact to the existing
VSCS system. Performed VSCS Training and Backup Switch (VTABS) Security Testing.
- Wrote the security procedures based on the VTABS application, the operational platform, and the Microsoft Windows NT4.0
operating system. Procedures addressed following security requirements: Access, Accountability, Audit, Data, Integrity,
Discretionary Access Control, Identification and Authentication, User Privilege, Marking, Administration, Security Policy, and
Object reuse.
- Delivered final test procedures and reports concerning the Voice Switching Control System (VSCS) and VSCS Training and
Backup Switch (VTABS) to the FAA Office of Information System Security Certification through the FAA Program Office.
- Provided technical support in the testing and installation of VSCS and VTABS at the Air Traffic Control Centers (ARTCC).
