Experienced Skilled Trades Professional as Boilermaker Iron Ship Builders Apprenticeship &

American Line Builders Joint Apprenticeship

What’s Boilermaker- Boilermakers are employed in repairing, repiping, and re-tubing commercial

steam and hot water boilers used for heating and domestic hot water in commercial buildings and

multi-family dwellings. Sometimes these boilers are referred to as pressure vessels. Generally, a

pressure vessel is a storage tank or vessel that has been designed to operate at pressures above 15

p.s.i.g. The two main tasks of boilermakers involve using oxy-acetylene gas torch sets to cut or

gouge steel plate and tubes, followed by gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), shielded metal arc

welding(SMAW), or gas metal arc welding (GMAW) to attach and mend the cut sections of tubes and

steel plates.[2]

Background

Summary

I'm a passionate 30 year old male with many years of on the job experience in the skilled trades. A long with many

other aspect of construction like transportation, production, safety and productivity. Was in the Linemen Substation

Apprenticeship for a few years before I resigned to get into the Boilermakers, Iron Shipbuilder Apprenticeship. Waited

6 years to get into that program with addition of going to Owen's Community six years earlier to get certificates to help

my chances of getting into the program. Eventually got Associates in applied science. Acquired a class A CDL also

from there. All these jobs were out of hiring hall. None of them were permit positions. Have 3 more years on the job

experience working for multipurpose Fabrication, Machine weld shops like Dillin Engineered Systems, Brass works

INC, Transco Railway. Some of these job were out of a Temp Agency. My resume is already 6 pages so that’s why I

only put down most recent and Professional jobs.

These days I am looking for a steady long term position to be successful at and to contribute my efforts. Want to work

for a Company to call home. Sick of jumping Contractor to Contractor. If you are not familiar with how local unions

contractors work ill explain a little. You get a refer from the hall for a contractor go through orientation maybe take

some test. Then you go to work it could be a job that will last years or a couple days. After you finish the job you go

back to the hall and sigh the out of work book. Been to 45 states so yes I have been around. I want to stick to a

company by the Hip and become a company man.. There are other area in the skilled trades I am interested in if given

the chance. Quality Control, CWI- Certified Welding Inspector or CAWI - Certified Associate Welding Inspector. also

understand that this means more training and testing. I'm vary mechanically inclined. Have the work ethic tools and

intelligence to prove it. As of right now am trying to build a relationship with someone on LinkedIn and maybe join

your team.
