associated maintenance and repair processes.

• Carry out Daily Service and Scheduled Maintenance Service from 250 hours – 2000 hours. All

maintenance services are based on caterpillar specifications.

• Making sure parts are ordered for defective components

• Make sure that task are carried out in a safe way

• When there is brake air pressure low, it shows on the VIMS, SIS and ET I then carry out trouble

shooting on the air system. First I check the air compressor outlet, governor, air purge valve, starter

air relay valve and finally the turbo charger for the air flow rate, before I carry out any necessary

repair on the various components.

• Assemble and disassembling of components to specification

• Making daily work reports on task carried out each day

• Also build a strong team work among my team mates and plan well to meet contingency situations

• Perform follow ups on parts ordered for maintenance, assigned tasks, monitoring and effective

communication with team members

• Ensure machines is parked with the park brake on (Tag out and Lockout)

• Take oil samples from various oil compartments for scheduled oil sample analysis test

• Engine oil filter, air filter, fuel filter, transmission filter and hydraulic filters all changed

• Final Drive oil drained and refilled because there is no filtration system.

parts etc. Any worn parts are replaced.

• I remove and replace burst steering, hydraulic and transmission hoses as well as changing worn O-

ring seals.

• I also monitor the VIMS (vital information management system) when the machine is on the field

(pit). When the blue light is on, it indicates that, there is a problem on the machine so I attend to it

and solve it. It may be a brake stroke high. The brake stroke high appears on the VIMS, SIS, and

ET Thus when there is air in the braking

• I also change transmission pump, steering pump and hydraulic pump when the pump pressure is

low. Before I change the pump, the oil is drain into a drain pan. After draining, I remove all the

hoses on the pump to support the pump with sling before the mount bolts is loosened. After all, the

pump is lowered gradually with the sling on the floor before the new pump is mounted on the

machine and the pressure tested with pressure gauge.

• Change worn out tracks on dozers, replace worn top and down rollers if necessary, check for weak

idlers and check for track quads, that is undercarriage

• Change pump drive and main drive shaft lip seals.

• Change defective water pump and thermostat.

• Change defective flow regulators

• Remove hoist control value, reseal and fix it back

• Change fuel transfer pump and fuel injectors when they are faulty.

• Brake System oil, Cooling system coolant, Engine oil, Hydraulic oil, Differential oil, Steering

system oil, Final drive oil, Torque Convertor and Transmission oil, Transfer gear oil
