Career Objective:

Working Experience
Currently working in Tirupati Inks Ltd., Gr. Noida as Manager- R&D (UV&WB) from 06.08.2011 to
till now.
Worked in Siegwerk India Pvt. Ltd from 26-11-2007 to 05.08.2011 as Sr. Executive.
Worked in Uflex Ltd.( Converting Div.) from 01-08-2006 to 26.11.2007 as Officer.
Completed Industrial training of Ind. Chem. Project From fab.2005 to June 2005 in Flex. Industries
Ltd. Noida and summer training of 2 months in I.G.L. Kashipur
Job Profile:
1. Development of new Inks and coatings technologies based on UV Curable and Water Borne systems
according to the technology roadmaps of my company.
2. Mainly responsible for New Development, existing products innovation, cost reduction and projects
reports generation.
3. Heavy involvement in new projects from marketing (concept of development to pilot manufacturing to
trial to production)
4. Prepare Technical Literature(TDS, MSDS and presentations etc.) of newly developed ink systems
5. Ensure that customers, Sales and Application Engineers have all technical information required to
properly cure and use new ink systems.
6. Ensure secrecy of company’s intellectual properties of responsible area.
7. Stay current with patents and chemical literature.
8. Supervise projects and experiments assigned to sub-ordinate chemists or R&D technicians.
9. Show creativity and resourcefulness to come up with solutions to issues which may arise during the
development process and/or in anticipation to issues which may come up in pilot plant or
manufacturing, QC and TSS.
10. Making the Testing regimen for in-coming raw materials, FG Testing and Process Parameters
11. Retrieves safety approvals, Right to Market, codes new raw materials, and issues Ingredient Listings,
Keeps accurate and precise records.
12. Ensured safety of all sub-ordinates, working in UV Curable +WB inks Section.
13. Ensure availability of all required raw-materials (including separate R&D sub-store for RM and under-
observation Inks), chemicals, Instruments and general use items.
Development Projects Handled:
A. UV Curable Projects:
UV Coatings: Develop various coating systems with full break-up of raw materials. Select best and cheapest
raw materials (Monomers, Oligomers, PI, Synergist and other Additives) from different suppliers with
complete evaluation, cost negotiation from different suppliers like Allnex, Sartomer, Eternal, RAHN, DSM-
Agi, Lambson and some other Chinese source. Some Coatings are currently running well in Mkt. Important
ranges are as follows;
1. 5 Variants of Roller-Coater UV Coating ( as per final application)
2. High Quality, Low odour, High mileage UV Coating with 25 Sec viscosity(with FCB-4@25DC)
against highly demanding Wessco product.( Upgraded version also developed against USA Product)
3. Low odour, Low viscosity UV Coating for Met Substrates.
4. Two versions in Sheet-fed UV Coatings
5. 5-6 Variants of Texture and Special effect Coatings
6. UV Coating for Holographic application ( Also develop water based base coat for Special effect with
Normal UV Coatings)
UV –Flexo Label Inks–Full set of 18 Colours in two ink systems developed, one is low cost optimum
performance ink series and second one is high quality, low migration ink series. Both series are under market
introduction. Special features are as follows;
• Common ink systems for Paper, filmic substrates and Met. Substrates.
• Highly Transparent, High strength inks
• Close to Newtonian flow and excellent transfer.
• Suitable for wide range of Aniloxes
• Excellent curing while suitable UV Intensity applies.
Development of UV Offset Inks: Following series of UV Offset inks, developed
o UV Curable Offset inks for Paper Substrates
o UV Curable Offset inks for Filmic and Met Substrates
Development of UV LED Curable Flexo Inks and Coating: Developed Full set of UV LED Curable Flexo
Inks, UV LED Coating for Pharma application, UV LED Curable systems are under field Trial: Needs
improvement for processing and commercial viability.
In –Process Development of UV Curable Systems: Currently, I am leading following development projects
in my section;
o UV LED Curable offset inks for non-absorbent substrates
o UV Curable Dry offset inks
o UV Curable, low viscosity ink systems for Inkjet Printing
o UV Curable Adhesives
Support Projects/New findings/Various Studies during UV Projects / other short term Projects:
1. Development of Sun Light Curable Brushing Tint Lacquers for stone/Marble Coating
2. Study of shrinkage of UV Oligomers and Monomers
3. The Effect of Moisture on In-Cane stability and print performance of UV Curable systems.
4. Fine-tuning of UV coatings for remove curling issue in low GSM paper.
5. Study to minimize blushing effect in UV Coatings.
6. Study of Rheological behavior with different functionality monomers in various formulations.
7. Study of adhesion properties in UV coating Curable systems: Effect of base oligomer and Monomers.
8. Study of various Amine Compounds on curing rate of UV Systems.
9. Coating Characteristics of Hyper branched Urethane-Acrylate Modified Coatings.
10. Study of UV Curable Epoxy Acrylate Oligomer Modified with various modifiers.
11. Application Durability v/s Chemistry of UV Curable system.
12. Evaluation of Photo curing properties of Various Ingredients for UV curable systems.
13. The Effects of Optical brighteners and Silica Nano-particles on curing and coating of UV-Curable
Systems.
14. Study of factor affecting, adhesion of UV Flexo Coating for better adhesion on Water base Inks.
Future UV Curable projects: Letter Press and Screen Inks development – RM Vendor development / Testing
methods / Peer Review / Product Development and fine tuning for commercial success.
B. Synthesis /Development of Ink Ingredients (Reverse Engineering for In-house application):
o Developed Bis-Phenol-A Based Epoxy Di Acrylate and Metha Acrylate in lab, Pilot Plant label:
Commercial trials already approved at final application side. Evaluation of various Epoxy Pre-polymers
samples received from different suppliers: Study of Clarity, Rheology, odour, Moisture content, acid value
of Acrylated Oligomer and its impact on final coat /Print.
o Soya oil Epoxy Acrylate developed.
o Developed Dispersing agent (Monomeric) for Resin free and Resin Based grinding of water based
inks.
o Developed substrate wetting agent for water based systems.
o Developed Adhesion promoter for UV Curable systems for Olefin substrates.
o In-Process: Working on synthesis of Acrylate Monomers – some instruments awaited.
C. Water based Projects:
• Developed High Quality WB Narrow web Label Flexo Inks, common ink system for filmic, Met
substrates and Papers.
• Developed two variants in WB Craft Paper Inks: One for Slow speed conventional Plate –Coater
Machine and second for High speed –Flexo (Anilox) machines.
• Developed 8 variants of Aqueous Coating (for Sheet-Fed, Gravure and Flexo applications) including
offline as well as Wet on Wet aqueous coatings, Heat Resist Coating, heat seal coatings and blisters
coatings.
• Developed Water replatant WB Coating for Corrugation board to replace Wood packaging against
Michel men Product.
• Developed WB Inks for wide web gravure printing of Food wrappers and Packages. (Special initiative
to replace Solvent based ink with Water based inks with existing print performance and press speed).
• Developed special Aqueous coating for Wine Bottle labels superior Alcohol and Water resistance
coating.
• In-Process Water Based Projects:
o Water based Gravure ink system for Printing of Label of Soft Drinks over Pearlized BOPP.
o Poly Urethane Dispersion based lamination grade ink for Flexo as well as Gravure Printing.
o Water based Flexo inks for printing over HDPE Woven sacks with excellent nail and tape
resistance.
o Development of 3-5 variants of Aqueous coatings for barrier coatings with FDA approved
raw-materials ( Specially to replace Al- Foil of Flexible packaging laminates)
D. Others :
Sound knowledge of CP Inks and FPLI Systems like PU, NC-PU, Vinyl, Acrylic, PA and Mod.NC
Inks.
Various process used in SB Ink’s areas like Printing, lamination, Slitting, Pouching, Film production-
Cast and Blown, Metalizing, Extrusion Coating and Woven-Sack manufacturing.
Special work on pouches specimens development and design ( Side –Seal, D-punch,Side gusset,Zipper, Lap seal, Bottom gusset, Spout, Slider, and Three –D pouch etc. )
Legal Documents, Industry standards and systems: Sound knowledge of different legal regulations and
updation for various raw materials used in ink industry. Generation and updation of TDS, MSDS,
Product specifications, evaluation reports, Vender record and formulations + testing record
Taking initiatives to work with other elements(Converter, RM supplier, Brand Manager and Machine
manufacturer) for successful products launching and at the same time putting extra effort as 5 th
element ( as ink designer).
