GRS is the new technology revolution of Wal-Mart supply chain. From old
legacy system, the forecasting has been improved to 99.5% (compared to
95%). From suggested ordering till the sales information capture the whole
PO lifecycle passes thru Wal-Mart GRS/Replenishment system.
GRS Support mainly consists of following sub modules:
. JDA user interface/ JDA workbench
- System suggested and buyer push/manual order maintenance and
dropping to DC
- Capturing Sales and receiving information
- Monitoring JDA setting and behavior for suggested orders
. Project Issue Tracking
- Requests from customer regarding any new request such as new Store
opening, new business requirements, new line of business for
specific market plan etc.
. System Monitoring
- Monitoring existing GRS system which in turn runs 1600 jobs round
the clock of which 250 are critical (both time and business). We
support all the jobs in case of abend, long run etc. We modify the
system flow as per business request, or in case of technical
difficulty.
. System tuning
- Over the span of last 4 years of Wal-Mart GRS system, there are
areas of improve the performance of the system by tuning long
running job, breaking large data handling into prices efficiently,
removal of obsolete jobs etc

Project Description:
PICS (Policy Issue Capture System) is a system which is implemented through
a set of batch COBOL programs which collects upstream Workers Compensation
Policies. While issuing or modifying a Workers Compensation Policy,
depending on the issuing State, State and Federal Bureaus needs to be
notified with the current status of the Policy with certain criteria. After
collecting upstream information of the Policy, PICS generates reports for
individual Bureaus of that particular policy. Some Bureau needs the report
in a daily basis, some in a alternate day or some in a weakly basis. By
handling a set of scheduler Jobs, it is maintained.
There was variation in the format of the report a Bureau requires. In the
project, it is also handled by developing new rule and techniques.
