THE PROJECT : AUTOMATED PROMOTIONAL BONUSING (APB) SYSTEM FOR CREDIT CARD
PRODUCT
Environment : Mainframe COBOL, JCL, DB2, Easytrieve, ChangeMan, File-Aid,
JobTRAC, InfoMan.
Description : APB (Automated Promotional Bonusing) is a project initiative
to automate current Bonusing flexibility and fulfillment within Rewards and
Incentives. It supports Promotions & Programs which varies from complex
Spend based promotions to Event based promotions and Cash reward promotions
to card features program.
Main objective of APB is to collect information from various heterogeneous
systems then process it and transform this information for the Rule service
engine which in turn validates each record against Eligibility,
Qualification and fulfillment criterions. Eventually leading to
fulfillment/bonusing, details of which are then sent to various system
which process the records and ensure that the corresponding card member
receives bonus.

Roles and Responsibilities
. Worked on analysis, design, build and implementation phases.

ADHOC Work In The Project
REMEDIATION
Description : Is an adhoc activity done by APB, through this activity we
manually bonus those card members who couldn't get the bonus due to
incorrect promotions. As part of remediation activities we adhocly load and
execute jobs and merge the output files with that of the scheduled jobs.
Roles and Responsibilities
. Was responsible for the analysis of the reasons behind user requests
leading to remediation.
. Was responsible for reviews of all the activities leading to manual
bonusing, which included extracting old records from production, changing
them as per analysis done, and finally re-processing the files.
PRODUCTION SUPPORT
Description : As part of APB, Team individuals were needed to support the
Business's daily processing. The support is done through various Change
requests and System service requests and required documentation of each and
every activity.
