• 25 years managerial background as Manager and MD in mining, engineering, mining
construction, mining engineering consulting, strategic marketing, and mining operations with direct
responsibility to group chairman.
• High-level international exposure in underground and large Tunnel mining and heavy
engineering projects and thorough knowledge in all relevant fields of management and work
practices relevant to mechanized mining and tunnelling with Excellent Hands on leadership
experience
• International exposure: As a senior project engineer with the German mining company
Thyssen Mining (1978 until 2000) with profit center head responsibilities in several large-scale
international mining projects, e.g., in the U.S., Spain, and Australia.
• Responsible for all statutory issues: Leading a board of up to eighteen senior managers in the
engineering environment and a staff of 450 .

1978 – 1980 Mining site manager as project engineer for Thyssen Mining near
Tuscaloosa (USA) with the tasks of constructing and implementing a
spiral bunker and (9 m diameter, 60 m depth); after completion
responsibility of ramping up the open-pit (steaming coal) production to
a steady level of 8,000 to 10,000 t/d.
1973 – 1975 Foreman in underground tunnelling and hard rock mining operations
at various mines in Germany.
Education
1979 – 1980 Completion of an extra-occupational graduate-level study program at
the University of Alabama (Tuscaloosa, AL) at the Department of Civil,
Construction, and Environmental Engineering in Construction
Engineering & Management., after work study.
1975 – 1978 Completion of academic degree in mining engineering studies at the
mining engineering school in Bochum/Dortmund, Germany (1978):
