Since arriving in the US I have worked for the American Income Life Insurance Company while coaching part time with Yeshiva University Female basketball team and NewFlex Hoop Inc. W ith 28 years experience within the Government St. Kitts and Nevis Civil Service serving as Director of Sports from 2007- 2013. Having volunteered for National and Community Service; Trained in high
performance coaching, coach training, coaching theory practices, physical education, certificate in sports administration, training and development, project/grant writing and excellent interpersonal communication skills. With expertise in Basketball Coaching holding advanced training and certification/diplomas from Hungary, Canada, the Caribbean, Germany and the USA, Having access to an extensive recruiting network with contacts throughout the Caribbean and Internationally in many sports including basketball, football, volleyball and athletics. I have also served on a number of Local, Regional and International organizations. My Experiences has taught me many important lessons; one such in the Military “good leaders must be good followers”. Planned and implemented the Reach One Teach One Basketball Camp which has seen over 12 persons acquires US College/University Scholarships. It has also helped develop skills of individuals in preparation for competition and assessed and evaluated individuals performance. I organized the planning and facilitation of Primary School Track and field series (the number of
participating athletes increased by 100% within the first year and by 400% since then);This has provided the national program with a wider pool of athletes to choose from). Presently St. Kitts & Nevis world class professional athletes who have graduated from this program includes Kim Collins (2003 100m World Champion), Tiandra Ponteen (400m), Tamika Williams (Sprint) and Antoine
Adams (2014 CAC games 200m champion, sprint member of World Championship Relay Bronze medal winners) as well as national athletes attending US Colleges. I was also responsible for scheduling of Department’s coaches timetables (Staff of 20 coaches), Planned and implemented training courses for the Department’s coaches. Planned and implemented the Department’s Premier Summer Sports Camps for children 16yrs and under, planned and implemented training courses for
St. Kitts Amateur Basketball Association (SKABA) coaches.
